Project Background:Intercultural competence is a necessary condition for respectful cooperation and the basis for the international opening and development of our school.The school administration and faculty would like to continue executing diverse and enriching international projects with European partners in the near future. For that very purpose project management and foreign language skills are urgently needed on an international and state of the art level -which represents the basis for the development and implementation of successful projects in the future.The issue of the training is precisely applicable on our current training needs.Project objectives, process for project implementation:Those involved in the training expertise will be asked to retrain the entire staff in immediate succession. Within the framework of school quality development, a corresponding Erasmus plus group is to be established and installed, with Europe friendly open minded employees who, recently empowered by the desired training, can be flexible in taking action. The courses are especially selected for this purpose as they convey expertise in project management as well as training the language skills in accordance. Even in everyday teaching those skills regarding self-management and organization as well as language and art education will be highly beneficial, even and especially with attention to our students with an immigrant background and of course in terms of the exchange with potential project partners.The overarching goal is the future development of our school towards Europe by cross cultural project work, even more so than in the past and supported by the entire faculty.Number and profile of participants, activities, process:4 hospitalteachers will take part in the training. One teacher is to be participating in the week-long course 'Project Management for cross-cultural exchange projects in Europe'. The course aims to enhance management skills for the implementation and evaluation of European projects.The thus specially trained teacher, a foreign language teacher and intercultural coordinator at school is to pass on lessons learned, all that resulting in the establishing of a school-based workgroup Erasmus plus, members being motivated employees. As such, that teacher will be based in our school as Erasmus plus presenter.To prepare the way for many international contacts, and for potential project partners and to improve foreign language skills for the means of European exchanges both with colleagues in Europe as well as with our students, often with an immigrant background, 3 more colleagues will take part in a one-week language training course in English speaking Malta. The course 'Professional Development of English Language for Teachers, through the use of art in the classroom' ‚includes many aspects (improvement of teachers' language skills and those of the students, amplifying and encouraging intercultural competences by contacting participants from different EU countries and being part of teaching and learning experiences; self-management; social and creative learning; applying the latest methodology in language and art classes, giving impulse through art education) which we consider as a useful complement for our project.The participating colleagues are foreign language and art teachers. In many cases they work with children and young people with an immigrant background or pupils who have recently escaped to Austria.Description of expected results and effects as well as expected long-term benefits:We expect that everybody involved in this project feels obliged and motivated to professionally support and encourage European project work and actively cooperates with future project partners. We wish to carry on with and expand the European idea in our school whether daily classroom work or project work, networking with European partners or participating in the training courses designed to support teachers of our school professionally. We would like to become familiar with the pedagogical use of intercultural project management work and to establish contacts with European partners, all that to justify further Erasmus plus and eTwinning projects in a variety of disciplines and subjects. The newly acquired language skills and improved project management skills will be multiplied in the overall team and will be most helpful to inspire European project work.
