The aim of the project Professional development to removing barriers to integration of refugee children without families into society is professional development of youth workers in order to innovate and improve the quality of youth work, particularly with refugee children. Cultural and social, educational and communication barriers at work with youth-refugees without families will eliminate on the basis of the implementation of the project. This will be achieved through the development of communication, interpersonal skills and intercultural skills of workers with these children. Workers of Facility for children of foreign nationals will develop their intercultural competence through the project. Orientation specific needs of refugee children in the context of migration reality in the world and integration policy in the Czech Republic and the EU, prevention and resolution of conflicts especially between migrants and the majority population, promotion of friendly coexistence belong to these competencies. Project activities will focus on these issues and also on communication techniques, empathy, tolerance and non-verbal communication. Staff development will be achieved through theoretical and practical activities of the project. Project activities will be attended by 10 workers of the Facility for children of foreign nationals, who already have had experience with working with youth - foreigners, but due to the changing structure of the client device they must constantly educate themselves. Another goal of the project is networking and cooperation with other experts in the field of integration and participation of migrants in society leading to the establishment of cooperation and transfer of know-how.The objective of the project will be achieved by the following activities, which will be held during the three foreign trips:• events used to establish contacts (networking and cooperation with other experts in the field of integration and participation of migrants in society)• training events (communication and interpersonal skills and intercultural competence)• practical internships, where workers participate in shadowing / observation in organisation involved in work with youth-refugeesThe output of project will be also manual / brochure project with results and methods for working with refugee children. The brochure will be located on the website of the applicant / distributed to other educational facilities, schools with a high concentration of foreigners, non-profit organisations particularly through the workshop after the end of the project, the brochure will also be located on expert portals.
