As part of the international internship project, 30 students in their 2rd year and in their 3rd year from the Technical School Complex in Strzyzow will have the opportunity to undergo training in the following areas: – mechanical technician, – automotive technician, – commerce technician, – economic technician, – IT (Information Technology) technician – 4 people. The main objective of the project is to enhance practical skills, social competences and the mobility of participants in order to increase their potential attractiveness on the labor market. The specific objectives of the project are: 1. Gaining work experience in an international environment. 2. Acquiring key qualifications to increase chances of obtaining future employment. 3. Adapting the content of vocational training to the needs of the changing labor market – developing the internship program or modifying its teaching content in terms of employers' requirements. 4. Strengthening foreign language skills. 5. Building self-confidence to allow participants to navigate the labor market more at ease. 6. Enriching the school and its prestige in the local community. 7. Establishing collaboration between the vocational school and other companies. 8. Increased knowledge of the culture and customs of Germany. Students will leave for practical training in one term, May 2015. The project is going to be conducted between 31 December 2014 and December 2015. The placement of the students’ training is the city of Lipsk (Germany). The aim of the internship project is to familiarize students with the practical elements of their future occupations. Furthermore, the internship will make it possible for the students to improve their proficiency in the language of their industry. Trainees are going to undergo professional training in companies and workshops selected by the German partner, tailored to the professional profile of the students to ensure maximum benefits are drawn from the internship. The students will take on the challenge of reconciling the theoretical knowledge they gained with its practical implementation in a foreign country – Germany. The participants of the project include: – Technical School Complex in Strzyzow as the applicant (beneficiary), – Europa Haus, – the students, – German companies. The training will last 30 days. The students will be accompanied by guardians, whose task it will be to monitor the course of the training, to help adapt to the multicultural environment and to take care of the students. The project provides students with: round-trip ticket to the internship location, accommodation, insurance, tickets for local travel. Participants will also be paid a food allowance. The project was created in response to the need for proper preparation of youth for entry into the labor market and tailoring their professional education with the needs of the labor market. The applicant is aware of the fact that school plays an important role in the process of preparing youth for undertaking actions related to securing their first job. Therefore, the applicant is conducting the project in order to prepare the students to undertake actions in the labor market and to equip young technicians with the ability to navigate different economic and social circumstances. Those students from the Technical School Complex in Strzyzow that participate in the project and gain unique skills and social competence will increase their chances of employment, improving their position in a group of people with a potentially high risk of unemployment. This internship will eliminate the barriers to professional activation in a difficult local labor market, where lack of experience in one's profession is a major barrier to obtaining work. They will have a better chance to meet the very high demands of employers stemming from high unemployment, which often precludes any possibility of finding a job in one's region of residence. The anticipated results of the project are: – practical experience and skills, – new professional skills and familiarity with new work methods, – increased chances of employment and entry into the European labor market, – increased professional attractiveness that allows for the obtainment of a competitive position in the labor market upon graduation from school, – documentation of achieved skills by Europass Mobility, – knowledge of technical terminology in the German language, – improved competency in the German language through its practical use, – development of social communication skills and emotional maturity, – acquisition of openness and tolerance towards different cultures and traditions, – adaptation and use of the program's practical training at school in terms of employers' requirements, – better technical and marketing standing of the school, – increased motivation of the youth and adult community to learn throughout their lives.
