One of the most important aims in the vision of Publiczne Gimnazjum nr 1 in Brzesko is enhancing teachers' professional developement according to European standards in education. The planned activities focus on improvement of field knowledge, teaching methods and tools on the basis of practical studies. In multicultural societies of the united Europe, language competences play a crucial role. Among other languages, English seems to have the leading role as the language is most willinglly used in conducting the international projects, learning and teaching other subjects through foreign languages. Knowledge of other foreign languages among teachers and students is perceived as an additional advantage. The aims were formed taking into consideration our school comunity needs like developement of linguistic, social and organisational skills in an international context. The main objective of the planned project is quality developement and internationalisation of the institution. The project aims at improving language competences, new teaching methods and tools especially wider incorporation of Content and Language Intergrated Learning. Thus new professional competences of educational staff will result in eliminating barriers in contacts with other Europeans, building up confidence and openness for new challenges.Fourteen mobilities have been planned. Three international mobilities are addressed to teachers of foreign languages taught in our school as an obligatory subject, namely English and German and one Spanish course for a teacher of the native language who conducts Spanish club in our school. Other ten mobilities are supposed for teachers of History, Civic Education, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Polish and PE whose language skills are high enough for effective participation in field courses conducted in English. These mobilities will result in the developement of professional and linguistic skills and higher motivation to learn both by teachers as well as students. The school will widen its educational offer, increase the implementation of integrated language learning. The newly acquired competences and contacts will enhance international cooperation and higher prestige of our institution in the local and European community.
