The Lycée professionnel de Beauregard, a vocational High school in Montbrison, Loire, in France, offers training for machining technicians and plans to send 5 students on work placement every year for two years in Germany in mechanical production companies using CNC machines (Computer Numeric Control). The four-week work placement will take place from end of November to end of December 2014 for the first group, and from end of November to end of December 2015 for another group of 5 students. The students involved in this European mobility will be in the third and last year studying course of the Baccalaureat Professionnel training. The Wisamar institute in Germany will be in charge of finding the placements and tutors as well as organizing the welcome, accommodation, public transport, meals, cultural and sport activities for the students. Wisamar has been dealing with foreign students on training in German companies for many years. This mobility project stems from the fact that the students are not mobile enough when considering their internships, their work place or their studies. The aim of this work placement abroad is to expand their career path as well as their personal development. It should enable them to achieve fulfillment, to add value to their diploma, and to find motivation. They will discover citizen and European values through a different culture but in a field they master. They will strengthen their professional and linguistic knowledge while improving in self-reliance. They will be followed in Germany by a teacher from the Lycée de Beauregard throughout the work placement, some of them being under 18. They will be chosen on account of their ambition, their personal and school progress, their professional and social skills in a selection to be set up from May 2014. Their families will be informed on a regular basis via emails or meetings held before their departure. They will be delivered a EUROPASS mobility certificate after the work placement. With this project the lycée professionnel de Beauregard wishes to improve its recruitment and enhance the mechanics training courses. It is expected to impact on the image of the Lycée professionnel, on the results and motivation of the students. The project will be spread on the lycée's and the regional education authority 's website. Conferences are planned within the lycée and in organization meeting on a regional level for the mechanics training course. Its assessment will be carried out with all the actors of the programme (parents, students, teachers, coordinator) through a survey and individual interviews. A report will then be released so as to modify and improve the programme for future years.
