Our school aims to improve both our students social skills and academic knowledge. Within this framework our school strives to contribute to a well-rounded education that enables each student to develop emotionally, intellectually and socially. Learning to successfully interact with others is one of the most important aspects of a students development. Particularly, we aim to help students develop skills in managing their relationships, developing their capacity to resolve conflicts and differences, to recognise different forms of bullying, deal with a bully, overcoming bullying and seek appropriate help when needed. We also aim to improve the quality of instruction provided at our school. Specifically, promoting the use of new pedagogical techniques and the implementation of innovative practices that will help teachers better organise and manage their classes to reduce various behavioural problems. Another, specific, objective of our school is to improve the quality of teacher instruction regarding teaching English as a second language in order to provide a comprehensive English teaching program that will maximize results. We plan for 6 teachers or administrative teachers (head teacher, deputy head teachers) to attend training courses regarding the prevention of bullying, intervention in cases of bullying, class management, current methodological trends, development of social skills, effective communication, non-violent communication, group dynamics, innovative practices, conflict management and methodology of teaching English as a second language. It is expected that all teachers will, to a degree, improve their practices, knowledge, skills and attitudes in the areas mentioned above. Teachers taking part in the training courses / job shadowing will become multipliers of knowledge both within the organisation and the educational community of our province. The final and most important recipients of the program will be the students as they will have opportunities to improve their social skills, English language competencies and receive modern instruction.
