As a result of the economic and financial crisis, two contrary trends can be observed in our country – decline in employment and rise in unemployment. At the same time employers experience shortage of qualified specialists, able to perform tasks involving high expectations.The strategic purpose of the European Union is ‘To become the most competitive and dynamic economy in the world, based on knowledge and capable of steady economic growth thus providing more and better working places and a greater social unity”. In the following years there is expected to be additional financing by the European Investment Fund for development of small and middle-sized enterprises. The challenge for the managers of those enterprises will be finding highly qualified professionals, needed for the proper functioning and development of the business.The purpose of the mobility program is to make professional education better, using international cooperation and previous practical experience; to acquire good European professional practices and encourage the use of innovations.The basic purpose of the project is further building and improving key practical competences and abilities of its users by means of practicing in multicultural environment in the field of administration and record keeping, accounting and marketing of a company/firm, so as to produce highly qualified specialists. The modernization of professional education is urgent due to the growing competition in our world, aging of the population, technological development and accomplishing the aim of social cohesion in Europe.The peculiar goals of the project are: users to be acquaintanced with good European practices in order to raise the quality of their professional training; to expand their professional competence by means of performing practical tasks of contemporary record management; dealing with accounting documents; mastering innovative techniques in marketing; working with specialized software; automation of document flow; expanding learners’ knowledge in another foreign language - Italian, and perfecting English.The program focuses on acquiring a higher level of interaction between students’ individual abilities and social aims by developing key competences, defined in the European Reference Frame: communication skills in a foreign language, basic knowledge in the sphere of technology, digital competence, etc.The project targets students in X and XI grade, attending full course of studies at The National High School of Commerce – Plovdiv, specializing in ‘Economic Informatics’ and ‘Operative accounting’ with intensive English language learning.The mobility program allows specialized training in companies in Bologna, Italy, for four weeks. The participants will be divided into two groups, consisting of twenty students, in April and May, 2017. The project also aims at satisfying the disadvantaged students’ needs, which will make them more employable.While students are practicing, they will use English and Italian as working languages. The project is done in partnership with You-Net – an Italian non-commercial organization (head office in Bologna), working in the field of education. Both parties have agreed on the programme and it is in accordance with the age of the students and has been approved by specialists in professional training.The project will increase the students’ competitiveness at the Bulgarian and European labour market as a consequence of acquired professional competences in multicultural environment in accordance with the requirements of the business. The users will improve their foreign language competences and will overcome the language barrier problem in communication; they will also gain confidence that they are able to cope in an unknown environment. The learners will build qualities which will enable them to create their own business in the future and thus increase employment. Students’ stay will also expand their knowledge about the culture, tradition, lifestyle and work in a country, member of the European Union. It will be really helpful in terms of Eurointegration.This mobility program will improve the quality of education through transfer of innovative practices from one country to another; make school plans and programs more up-to –date; make professional education seem more attractive; lead to more permanent employment in the labour market; decrease the number of those who leave school early.The project is intended to respond to the needs of small and middle-sized enterprises for qualified specialists in accordance with the priority for economic development of the city of Plovdiv and the surrounding region, as well as employment stimulation at regional level.
