Preparing for the future
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

As part of Aarhus Business College’s international strategy, the college wishes to develop the college teachers’ competences in terms of language and cultural understanding in an international context. A vast number of our students attending the Higher Commercial Examination Program wishes to improve their future career possibilities either by attending English study programmes offered by Danish Universities or taking part of their further education at a university in another country and as a consequence of our students’ demands for more international study programs the college teachers’ language competencies require further development. The four teachers that we wish to offer the possibility of developing their competences in a European country all hold university degrees, such as MA in Business Language, MA in German, MA in Spanish, and MA in English all teach languages. The teacher with an MA in Business Language requires inspiration to teach, inspire, and motivate the students to engage in English literature whereas the other teachers require an update language-wise which is hard to acquire unless in the company of native speakers. The four teachers will participate in the following courses: 1. One teacher will attend a two-week course "Practical Ideas for the Teaching of English Literature" at IPC Exeter 2. One teacher will attend a two-week course "Developing Oral Fluency for Teachers of Adult Learners" at IPC Exeter 3. One teacher will attend a two-week course intensive Spanish course “Malaga Curso de Espanol para Extranjeros” at Universidad de Malaga 4. One teacher will attend a one-week course "Leben in Berlin" at the Goethe Institute in Berlin. At the courses, the teachers will work with a number of topics, including: • Language training • Litterature • Litterature in language training • Creative writing • Tools and methods for improving students’ learning and learning curve. The college expects the teachers to return with new ideas, tools and techniques to motivate students to work with languages. The anticipated impact on the organisation relates to the employees’ intercultural competences which will be registered in the individual competence file in the HR Department to ensure that the college in the future will be able to embark on K2-partnerships.
