Pregled sustava inteligentnog upravljanja radi povećanja energetske učinkovitosti u Irskoj
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project entitled "The overview of intelligent management systems for increasing energy efficiency in Ireland" is aimed at adapting high-school education to the guidelines of the EU regarding the harmonization of technology and environment. One of the objectives of environment protection is the reduction of energy consumption by using energy efficient systems. In order for the goal of energy efficiency to be fulfilled without decreasing the users’ comfort, the application of complex intelligent management system is required. The concept is characterised by synergy, as contemporary intelligent management systems such as KNX technology are a blend of automation, energy industry and ICT, thus presenting a complex system. Becoming a member of the EU, Croatia has taken upon the obligations of environment protection and sustainable economic development. These objectives may be achieved only through the advance of existing technologies, which requires highly skilled experts. The implementation of the project aims at educating teachers who will transfer the knowledge to their students and local entrepreneurs. Although the duration of the project will last one year, it is envisioned as spreading across several years since the long-term objective of all schools involved is the development of energy efficiency. The beneficial approach in schools is to begin with the teachers, who will implement the acquired knowledge not only in their classes, but also spread it further among the teaching and auxiliary staff. Another goal of the project is to utilize the knowledge obtained in the schools themselves, thus increasing the energy efficiency of the said schools through real-life application. The local community will also feel the benefits, having recognized the need for developments in this field and provided the essential funding. The local economy will also benefit from the series of activities planned for realization, as there is a significant market demand for systems increasing energy efficiency. Through use of the latest systems, a new spirit will come alive, popularizing not only energy, but also financial efficiency, i.e. systems more affordable than those previously used. Four VET schools have been selected as participants. The main criterion in school selection was to what extent the proposed plan was covered in respect to the educational areas of the schools. Therefore, the schools have been selected to include those whose students are being educated in the areas of computer engineering, electrical engineering and energy industry. When choosing partner schools, those were selected that demonstrated a heightened interest in environment protection and the increase of energy efficiency. All the schools consider the introduction of intelligent management systems as one of the ways to realize their goals. Partner schools have also expressed an inclination towards further cooperation upon the conclusion of the mobility programme. The national consortium is comprised of four VET schools: Technical School Sisak, Technical School Kutina, Vice Vlatković Vocational High School from Zadar and Electric Engineering and Traffic High School Osijek. The mobility is envisioned within the scope of a six-day programme (two of which reserved for travel) taking place in Ireland. During the mobility, ten teachers will stay in Dublin and undergo professional training at JPL Engineering. During their time at the company, the visitors will be introduced to a wide scope of activities theoretical and practical in nature, encompassing intelligent management systems, ICT, environment protection, energy efficiency, and the foundation of project financial management. The implementation is planned as an interdisciplinary educational programme. The teachers will obtain insight into the connections among technology, economics and environment protection. During their visit to the JPL Engineering, they will participate in multiple practical and theoretical activities, training them for continued independent work in the area of intelligent management systems and KNX technologies. Apart from the attendants, the newly acquired knowledge and skills will prove to be advantageous for 2411 students of schools included in the mobility, and the rest of the teaching staff. The schools will furthermore be relieved of a financial burden, as they will reduce their own energy consumption through the increase of energy efficiency by implementing the principles learnt at the mobility programme. Further benefits will be obtained from new experiences and multicultural cooperation transferred to the students. The positive effects of the mobility will continue to be passed on to end-users, i.e. entrepreneurs. In this way, through teachers, entrepreneurs will become introduced to the latest trends in technology, and also obtain high quality experts to employ in the future from the pool of students.
