Pratiques professionnelles à l'étranger
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

From the moment we experience the satisfaction linked to mobilities it is difficult not to repeat the experience again and again, year after year. The opening to Europe is an essential challenge in the training of our young students either in the school or in higher educadtion. Sainte Catherine, our school, located in Le mans, has already offered numerous opportunities to students in terms of training experience abroad. Our school of 820 students trains in the domains of Commerce-Selling, Hospitality-Catering, Baking-Pastry cooking and fashion and clothes design. We are applying for an ERASMUS + project in order to develop all these sections. We rely on the solid contact we have with the Swedish school in Linköping and our new German partner from Duisburg "Abtei Gymnasium" to organize exchanges of mobilities. The real start of our cooperation occured when we greeted incoming moblities from Sweden in hospitality in 2013, 2014 and 2015, the greeting of 5 German students in 2015 for a training period of professional discovery and the outgoing moblities of 2015 and 2016. Our first experience in January 2015 was a great success and the experience of 2016, now in process, appears promissing. This leads us to apply for a new project in 2017. . The first step will be with the first year students in vocational baccalaureate. They will be progressively prepared to the opportunity of mobility they will experience in second year. This preparation will consist in the creation and sending of videos, powerpoint presentations ...in English, and the objective is a presonal introduction, an introduction of the school and also a presention of our town and region... The second step will take place in September/October 2016. We will be greeting a group of Swedish and German students in the school and they will perform a training period of 2 weeks for some and 3 weeks for others. They will be accommodated in the families of the the first year students who virtually exchanged with them or will be lodged in a Youth Hostel.. In the meantime, the selection for outgoing mobilities will occur. The intensive preparation of the shortlisted candidates also. Twice a week, they will attend "English Lunches" helping them with daily and common conversation subjects, the objective being to ease the speech.. The third step will be the departure of the second year students of vocational baccalaureate in January 2017. They will leave for a stay of 4 weeks in Sweden or in Germany (09/01 to 04/02/17). Their accommodation will be in Swedish or German families or in Youth Hostels. Their training period and daily life willl be monitored by the teachers in charge of the project.Back to France, their experience will be valued through exchanges with students of first and second year and by means of exposés, photo montages, powerpoint presentations and films. Their objective will be to put in perspective the different professional practices they acquired (commercial activities, hygiene and security).Their experience will also be valued when the school opens its doors for prospective new students. This festive day is for us the opportunity to invite journalists from the local press (radio and newpapers). The final step is the obtention of the Europass and the validation of the facultative option "Mobilité" on their diploma. The expected benefits are numerous: going abroad... it seems common but in reality, every year, many students admit they never went to Paris! Gaining fluency in oral English which could help for their exam, gaining autonomy, maturity and the sense of responsibilities. Theses are visible but they can hardly be measured. The image and prestige of the school are also major arguments. It is our responsibility to give our students the opportunity to live this opening.
