The project „Traineeships in the European Union countries are the key to professional success”, prepared by Zespół Szkół Terenów Zieleni in Radzymin, will be carried out in two places: - places organized by ADC College in London - places organized by Tellus company in Italy. In both cases that will be in hotels, restaurants, IT companies or garden companies. Four groups of students will go on a traineeship: Group A – the students of Technical Vocational School; specialization – Food technology and catering services technician. (3rd year students) Group B – the students of Technical Vocational School; specialization – Waiter. (2nd year students) Group C – the students of Technical Vocational School; specialization – Computer specialist. (3rd year students) Group D – the students of Technical School of Landscape Architecture. (3rd year students) Groups B and C will go on traineeships to England, whereas groups A and D will go to Italy. All groups will go for two weeks. In groups A, B and D there will be 16 students, whereas in group C there will be 20 participants, because the computer class at our school is very numerous. The total number of all participants is 68. Two teachers will go with each group. The methodology used during the project includes: demonstrations, lectures, analysis, presentations, observations. The project responds to the educational needs of the country associated with an increase in the level of effectiveness of vocational training, acquiring new skills and experience to adapt to the requirements of the labour market in Poland and Europe. It also lets the students expand their knowledge of foreign languages, especially the professional language. The project responds to the needs of the region. Firstly, the need for land-use planning around the houses and housing estates within Wołomin county, where Radzymin is situated. It is connected with the traineeship which will be carried out by the students of Technical School of Landscape Architecture in Italy. (Group D) Secondly, Warsaw and its surroundings are frequently visited by tourists. After the organization of EURO 2012 in Warsaw, the number of tourists, especially foreign ones, has increased. This contributed to the development of catering sector in Mazovia. The demand for qualified, experienced catering and customer service staff, who speak foreign languages, will also increase. It is connected with the traineeship which will be carried out by the students of Technical Vocational School in England and in Italy. (Groups A and B) Since 2012, in our school we have had Technical Vocational School with the specialization of Computer Specialist. Information technology is constantly improving. We want our students, who learn to become computer specialists, to have the chance of foreign traineeships experience. The needs connected with computer services and web pages programming are still growing. The demand for such services is still high. (Group C). The aims of the project: -Gaining new professional skills by the participants. These skills are supported by Europass certificate, increasing therefore opportunities to find employment in a local as well as European markets. -Using and improving language skills in English and Italian languages. -Creating opportunity to travel abroad for children, especially for those from underpriviledged background: coming from rural areas, where unemployment rate is very high. They may have a great chance to gain more self-confidence and of course essential professional skills. -Making the participants aware of cultural diversity in Europe -Making professional education in our school more effective and atractive for students -Developing of IT competence especially for group C The results we expect: -68 students with skills and experience gained abroad, confirmed by Europass certificate. -68 students with better professional language skills: 36 English language and 32 Italian language -Increasing of self-confidence, improving of communicational and organizational skills as well as wider opennes of the participants on cultural diversity in Europe -More candidates enrolling in our school as a result of increasing atractiveness of professional courses in our school -Recognition of labour market in Great Britain and Italy as well as the rules of work in firms, companies and restaurants in the fields of gardening, catering industry and IT -Exchanging experience between our school teachers and organzations or companies which host the training courses for our students After the completion of the project, we expect its participants to find jobs they were preparing for. We do not expect them to become unemployed at all. We also have a hope that they will freely and fluently use professional foreign language at their workplace. They will also not be afraid of looking for a job abroad. Another benefits we expect is increasing number of candidates enrolling in our school as well as improving cooperation
