Our target group will be 20 students from the Maria Bratkowska Clothing and Hairdressing Secondary Technical School, from the Clothing, Hairdressing and Cosmetology Secondary Technical School Complex no 22 in Warsawten students pursuing the Hairdressing Services Technician diploma,ten students pursuing the Clothing Technology Technician diploma. Students will benefit from a 4-week internship of work-based learning, held in various enterprises in Dublin, Ireland, including clothing shops offering custom-made suits and tailoring services, fashion design studios with boutiques run by local designers, and hairdressing salons. The internship, starting May 2017, will be handled by us and our partnership institution Infinity Business College in Dublin. The purpose of this Program is to facilitate student learning opportunities outside the classroom. These experiences provide the opportunity to apply classroom theory to "real world" situations thus enhancing the students' academic and career goals. Realistic more flexible life skills will ultimately create successful and competitive workers in the European clothing and hairdressing labour market. Students will gain contemporary professional experience in another European country that will assist in developing their vocational, organizational and social skills. Benefits from this once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity include: observing customer care techniques, using different organizational systems, handling health and safety procedures, building solid team work approaches, making contacts and developing strong interpersonal relationships. In addition, they will be exposed to the most modern technologies and methods for performing specific clothing and hairdressing tasks, all the while functioning in a multicultural environment.The Hairdressing Services students chosen will observe new equipment and tools used in Irish hair salons, fresh trends in cutting, styling and colouring techniques, knowledge of the variety and range of Irish hair care products and hairstyle fashions. Gaining practical information about hair structure specific to Asians and Afro-Americans, and special hair treatments relevant to the Irish weather conditions will prove useful in their chosen career.The Clothing Technology students chosen will learn about new sewing machines and technologies, sewing techniques, measurements and specification systems, professional software used in the pattern- and garment-making process, types of fabrics and accessories, as well as Irish fashion trends and styles.Additionally, the students will greatly improve their English communication skills and their knowledge of European values, such as tolerance, respect and self-fulfillment. Visiting Ireland’s main city, Dublin, and discovering many tourist attractions will enhance the students’ professional character by promoting understanding and knowledge of different cultures, customs and traditions. Two professors from our school, a vocational hairdressing teacher and an English teacher, will accompany and supervise the students during their travels in Dublin. Host families will house and care for the students. Daily job training will be structured, monitored and evaluated by the local work supervisor, by our partner’s Coordinator and by our teachers.The preparatory programme will include:Health and Safety–5 hrs per clothing group and 5 hrs per hairdressing groupIreland–15 hrsThe European Union–5 hrsPedagogical workshops–10 hrsEnglish –30 hrsVocational English:in clothing –30 hrsin hairdressing -30 hrs The documents used in Project will include: Europass CV, Europass Mobility and the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training ECVET documents. Upon completion of the vocational training, the students will share their experience with other schools, students, their parents, owners of clothing and hairdressing businesses, teachers, local and regional communities and local authorities. They will document their training with photos, a film, a multimedia presentation and posters, that will be displayed during various school events. The information about their participation in the Erasmus+ mobility educational program will be uploaded to our school website. Due to this Project, our students will improve their vocational, multicultural and language skills. Results on their vocational qualification exams and on the Matura (school leaving) English exam are apt to increase. Participating in this Project will transform our future graduates into more self-confident, independent and enterprising workers, who will exceed the expectations and requirements of Polish and European employers. Our future graduates will be able to implement European standards acquired during the Project in the local and regional labour market and become European professionals who will unquestionably succeed in the competitive clothing and hairdressing sector.
