Praktyki zagraniczne kluczem do kariery na europejskim rynku pracy
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This particular project aims to follow up a theoretical knowledge with practical experience in European labour market. Lack of direct contact with the labour market and its rules and regulations often results in employment in other areas, not corresponding directly with their education. Insufficient fluency in English language, as well as lack of professional experience discourage potential employers and cause the graduates to face unemployment. Project participants are young people aged 17-19 studying in the following professions: electrician, IT technician, CNC mechanic, mechatronic and car mechanic. . It is worth pointing out that majority of these young people come from low income families with low mobility and life aspirations. Consequently they rarely leave their place of birth. In turn it limits their opportunities for professional development. Taking all of the above into consideration, we can deduct that this mobility project is an ideal tool aiding in the development of practical skills, the English language and personal growth. This leads to pro – development attitude and consequently to increasing their chances of future employment. The participants will be divided into two groups of 25 students, each with two supervisors (a teacher of English and a vocational subject teacher). These third form students will be undergoing mandatory practical vocational training. Selection process will be based on five factors from the following weighted scale: end of semester or end of school final vocational subject marks, English language, behaviour, participation in academic competitions, as well as financial hardship. After the selection process is completed, the participants will begin the preparation process by taking part in vocational English classes with elements of Irish culture (30 hours), psychological workshops together with preparatory courses for participation in vocational training. All participants will receive tablets with apps for English training, GPS and Wi-Fi to facilitate contact with family and the program co-ordinator. The training will be based in Mallow and Cork, Ireland and will be 4 weeks in duration. Our partner Your International Training will provide practical training opportunities with local firms. The duration and the program of training will be in accordance with requirements of the third level curriculum. During this time, both students and employers will be monitored by the representatives of our partner in Ireland as well as school supervisors. This will allow the participants to receive Europass Mobility certificate and confirmation of the vocational training from the employer together with references. On top of 6 hours of vocational training per day (120 hours in total) our partner will also provide cultural training consisting of trips to Kilkenny and Killarney and other cultural workshops including Irish dancing, tennis, and photography, all according to personal preferences of the participants. To increase participants’ language competency, they will be staying with Irish families, where they will also receive three meals a day. Our partner has also committed to deliver a free vocational English training conducted by a native speaker. We are anticipating the following results: increased vocational preparedness and language competence, knowledge of Irish culture and traditions, but also by breaking down the barriers and stereotypes, gaining independence and responsibility for once professional future. Thus, we would like our students to develop confidence and enable them to find their place in the Polish and European labour market. Moreover we would like them to realise their full potential by taking part in such training programs. The project will also benefit our school with the ability to broaden our educational offer. Our activities will be enriched with the European dimension – not only will we educate our young people based on prescribed curriculum but also provide them with an opportunity to develop professionally and personally what will be proven by European tools such as Europass Mobility Certificate.. Consequently our school will open the door for our students and will encourage them to take part in other educational programs within the European Union. The outcomes of this project will be disseminated on the internet (the school website, project’s website and social media networks); through conferences; meetings with parents, students and teachers; as well as articles in local and Irish newspapers.
