I. Information about the project The project involved the implementation of foreign placements for students of the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering in Rzeszow (ZSM Rzeszow). The target group were the students of the technical school trained in the following professions: Mechanics Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Aircraft Maintenance Technician. The project met the needs of the local labor market, because the school operates in an environment of "The Aviation Valley", that is the Association of Companies of the Aviation Industry. These companies require skilled workers from the mechanical industry. There were trips of two groups of 15 people each to Berlin, and two groups of 15 people each to Valencia. The participants attended preparatory classes, they were provided with the insurance, transport, accommodation, meals, and local transport. They underwent training in companies of the mechanical industry. They participated in classes according to the arranged training schedule. The participants were provided with mentoring and educational assistance in the training companies. All the aims and results of the project have been achieved. II. Project goals The main objective was to increase the professional skills of 60 students through foreign apprenticeships. This goal has been achieved. The confirmation of this are certificates received by the participants (The Europass Mobility, and a certificate issued by the host organization). The main objective has been achieved through the specific objectives which were to improve professional and language skills, to increase confidence in the students' own abilities, to become familiar with the peculiarity of working in a foreign company. III. The number and profile of participants The project involved 60 students of the Secondary Technical School in Rzeszow (ZSM Rzeszow) studying in the field of Mechanical Engineering. They were students from third and fourth grades. At this stage of their studies they had sufficient competence regarding their knowledge and skills as well as their personal development. IV. Description of the activities performed The selection of companies where the participants received training was made - 10 companies in Berlin and 8 companies in Valencia. Before each edition of the apprenticeships, a cooperation agreement with a foreign partner was signed specifying, among other things, the deadline of training, its budget, conditions of accommodation and meals, tasks of the sending and hosting organizations. The Selection Committee was appointed. Its members established the rules of recruitment and participation in the project and recruitment forms. In total, 149 candidates applied for the training willing to take part in the trips. There were lists of the qualified prepared (for 15 people) and the reserve lists (for 3 people). The assessment of education and behavior resulted in the final selection. There were preparatory classes organized prior to the departure. Those concerned the cultural, educational and language preparation. Each participant signed relevant agreements. The trip for them was organized, they were provided with accommodation, meals, local transport and insurance. Throughout the whole period of the duration of the project, various promotional activities took place. The school showcase displayed all the information relating to the recruitment process, preparatory classes and current information concerning students' stay abroad. Such information together with an extended photo gallery was simultaneously posted on the school website (http://www.zsm.resman.pl/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=179&Itemid=390). T-shirts for the participants were purchased in order to promote the school and participation in the Erasmus+ project. The project was also promoted during the Education Fair and Open School Days. There were information meetings held, with students as potential project participants and their parents during parent-teacher conferences at school. V. Results, impact of the project and the long-term benefits. The results of the project have been to achieve certificates confirming the participation in the foreign training by the 60 students (including the Europass Mobility). Others include: the European integration, the increase of the employment opportunities, the increase of the participants' independence and mobility, the emergence of skilled workers on the local labor market. Skills acquired by the participants will result in the increase of their attractiveness on the local and European labor market throughout their careers. The added value of the project is the increase of the school prestige in the educational environment, the increase of interest in the vocational education, and the increase of students' motivation to study. This will bring tangible benefits in the form of a greater number of candidates to attend school in the future.
