Praktyka zawodowa na Litwie gwarancją sukcesu na europejskim rynku pracy

The Project is intended for 20 students of the third form trained in food industry and catering as well as tourism in technical secondary school in Sanok (Zespół Szkół Nr 5 imienia Ignacego Łukasiewicza w Sanoku). The project is carried out in cooperation between the sending institution and I.W.U.P. “Vilnvarsa” in Vilnius (Lithuania). The main aim of the project is improving the system of professional education in food industry and catering training and tourism training through educational mobility of students and cooperation between the area of education and work. Doing the project leads to lasting cooperation between I.W.U.P. “Vilnvarsa” and our school, which will contribute to modernization in traineeship organization and correlation between traineeship and entrepreneurs’ needs. Gained experiences will be used to verify traineeship content, methods and tools of assessing effects, organizational solutions, validation, methods of evaluation. The project assumes modernization of education system regarding recognition of vocational qualifications in practical training due to European tools of acknowledgement and transfer of qualifications (Europass- Mobility) and due to creating the procedure to acknowledge vocational qualifications in practical training. The project promotes teaching and learning foreign languages as participants will attend vocational English courses and communicate in English. Additionally, culture classes adjusted to the vocational areas of participants and their stay in the foreign culture environment will constitute the fulfillment of intercultural awareness development. The project includes the following language and intercultural classes: “Professional English”, “Cultural context of traineeship”, “How to function on the job market”. As an intercultural preparation in the receiving institution, participants will be studying Lithuanian culture and traditions during excursions (Kovno (Kaunas) and Trakai, Vilnius) and cultural classes matching participants’ cultural and professional needs and interests. The traineeship during the stay in the receiving institution will lead to the improvement of professional competences, and will enable the trainees to get vocational qualifications, as a part of obligatory vocational traineeship. Food industry and catering students will expand and perfect their skills in the following fields: work organization in the workplace, occupational safety and health, storage and initial processing, heat processing, preparing courses, cold snacks, hot appetizers, hotel restaurant’s menu, setting and decorating the tables, rules and techniques of serving meals and serving customers. Students of tourism will develop their knowledge and improve skills in law, institutions supervising tourism in Lithuania, rules of customer fronting, office correspondence, tourist agency offer, tourist product advertising planning, marketing and advertising of tourist events and service, classification and categorisation of tourist accommodation, offices and other companies, cooperation between companies, planning and standards of tourist events, preparing itineraries, customer service in a hotel, professional ethics. The traineeship will take place in I.W.U.P. “Vilnvarsa” from 28 February 2016 to 14 March 2016. In effect 20 students will improve their vocational competences in real work environment. Participants will have trained personal and interpersonal competences. Language classes and traineeship will contribute to better communication in English. Intercultural classes will inspire participants’ initiative and entrepreneurship and increase their ability to be employed. Cultural classes will develop their cultural awareness. Obtaining certificates, and professional and intellectual benefits will increase students’ motivation to continue their education.
As for the sending institution the Project will influence the rise in vocational teachers’ competences, quality of work and methods of teaching. The Projects will open the institution towards cooperation with other European companies due to getting experience and developing methods and cooperation strategies. Developing the procedure of replacing traineeship in Poland with traineeship abroad contributes to establishing synergy between formal education, training and job market. The project will use the following methods: SWOT analysis, goal analysis, stakeholders’ analysis, method of observing participants’ progress and analysis of project documentation.
