TERMINÉ
This project is targeted at 12 teachers of vocational subjects and 42 Secondary Technical School students specializing in Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Mechanics. During every mobility students will be accompanied by two teachers. The first group of 22 students (electronics engineers, electricians and mechanics) will receive their vocational training in Veszprem, Hungary from 16th November to 2nd December 2016. Job shadowing for teachers will take place from 1st to 6th May 2017 and students’ vocational training (10 electricians, 10 electronics engineers) will last from 10th to 26th May 2017. Both groups will stay in Braga, Portugal. In Hungary work placements for students have been arranged in the comapnies as follows: Balluff, Elektrocenter, I.D.S., T-NC Technika and GNSZ kft. Nemesvámos. In Portugal teachers and students will experience the workplaces and workdays in such companies as Apelmel, Tripolar, L. Crescente, Bragalux, Thermopista, Zeben, Triaf and Quadrisol. Students and teachers will broaden vocational knowledge, skills and practical experience in the field of electronics and electrical engineering as well as mechanics. They will share knowledge and exchange information. They will raise their vocational competence and they will definitely feel encouraged to create their own initiative. The project’s aim is also to facilitate students’ and teachers’ personal development, build both professional and personal relationships, promote cooperation, increase their self-esteem, push them to action and make them define and solve possible problems in the workplace, encourage them to learn foreign languages, especially job-related vocabulary, experience new cultures and discover new places. Job shadowing is an opportunity that will allow teachers to learn more about new technologies and latest technological inventions and find more and more ways how to help students become skilled and professional workers abroad. The expected results by the end of the students’ vocational training include their being able to perform certain tasks: design new systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology, test designs and create user-friendly interfaces, improve the detailed design of a piece of electronic equipment, write technical reports, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools, diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, operate CNC machine tools, mill, trundle, machine. The project is expected to have enormous and long-term influence on teachers and students. Both teachers and students will broaden their occupational/vocational knowledge, they will understand the necessity of constant self-improvement, practise speaking a foreign language and become more self-confident. While visiting new countries they will learn the importance of tolerance and being open to other cultures and nations.
