Our school, Grans naturbruksgymnasium, is situated in the north of Sweden, and most of our students have little, if any, experience from travelling in Europe and meeting other cultures. We have already had a very successful mobility project together with a school in Holland, Lentiz MBO. We want to continue this cooperation and give more students the opportunity to go abroad for work experience. We are applying for sending 10 of our students to do 3 weeks work practice in holland during 2016- 2017 (5 students each year). The students atre studying the Natural resource use programme with the following profiles; pet shop animals, animal health care, working with dogs, horse groomer, agricultural animals and agricultural machines. We are also applying for sending 4 staff/teachers to visit the students at their work placements and also to learn more about the teaching, and teaching methods used in Lentiz MBO, Holland and how they are organizing their work practice placements. We see this as a great opportunity to learn from each other. With this project we hope to give the participants more skills in their profession, increase their understanding of the different conditions for agriculture and animal care, give them experiences that will strengthen their self-confidence and entrepreuneric skills, increase the understanding for other cultures and improve the ability to communicate in english. We see this project as a way to strengthen our students on the labour market and increase the quality of our schools education.
