In September 2007, Sensus Study Association in Gothenburg started a new Advanced Vocational Training for International Key Acccount Managers in cooperation with Göteborg University. The training is post-secondary and has been developed in close cooperation with the labour market and employers. Our application for two further inceptions of the training in the application round of 2012 was approved and this project is mainly aimed to 16 of 30 participants who started their education in August 2013. The participants in the education and the project are mainly working as sellers and espicially as key account sellers. Most of them have experiences from business-to-business selling and want to work with key account management in an international and global sphere. The training for International Key Account Managers provide excellent qualifications i.e. in the following areas: Creating the role and function as a KAM from the principles of relation marketing, working consultatively with different customers and suppliers, and applying a leadership, based on specific situations and needs. Within the training course there is a period for practice – Learning at Work – where the students in different projects take on an assignment for a company or an organisation. These companies could be Swedish companies with international activities or international companies in Sweden or abroad. In order to broader the students international experiences we try to encourage them to choose to undertake some of their practice period to a European country. Some of the students will prefer to find their own international placements. We can also in cooperation with a company in Hungary be able to offer interesting and developing placements in Austria and Hungary. Through the internationel work placement the students are in regularly touch with their tutors in Sweden, who can give them support with their project reports and how to manage the main task. The participants will get an opportunity to learn more about working life, culture and economics in other countries. They also have a chance to use a foreign language in a working situation. All their knowledge and experiences but especially the international experiences strengthen the advantage of the training course and also considerably improves their employability.
