Erasmus + project “Praksa u Velenju“ includes a three-week mobility of ten students of Obrtnička škola Koprivnica who will do their training in Šolski center Velenje in Slovenia accompanied by a teacher. ŠC Velenje and Obrtnička škola Koprivnica have similar educational programmes but training in Velenje is done in highly equipped workshops and on technology unavailable to Croatian students during their high-school education. The project will be implemented during the school year 2014/2015 and the mobility will take place in February or March 2015. Ten students in four occupations in the areas of mechanical or electrical engineering will improve their professional as well as personal skills through the project. Before the mobility the students will participate in preparation classes (pedagogical and cultural, professional, organizational and computing classes), and after the mobility they will evaluate the results and present them to the local community. Through the project the students will broaden their skills but also become more competitive on the labour market. Partner institutions will exchange experiences and Obrtnička škola hopes to use the knowledge to improve the education in its new school building. Also, in ten years time (2009-2019) Obrtnička škola plans to give the opportunity of training abroad to its students in all occupations and show the students and the community that these occupations are very important and should not be neglected but invested in because they are an important part of the economic growth of a region.
