Four teachers of English language were selected to participate in this project. None of them is certified to teach English despite the fact that are graduates with a master´s degree from university, having a status of qualified teachers and have also being permanently improving their qualification in English by attending DVPP schooling, training courses and programmes dedicated to teachers of foreign languages. Two of the candidates are primary school teacheres with an experience of many years. Both of them studied English on their own in past and were very helpful when there was an urgent need of teaching English at our school. However, they are studying and also improving English language teaching metodology at present. They did not face any problem with teaching foreign language and they are very excellent teachers as well. But still they have what to improve. It is not easy for anybody to communicate fluently in foreign language and worse is to start learning it in anyone´s adulthood. One of these two teachers has already been to England twice to attend a language training course under The Comenius Programme which our school took part in. This course turned out to be very helpful and her language skills went so high, so finally she started to teach English at both primary and secondary school. Next one is a certified teacher of Czech language and Psychology for secondary school. She is willing to stay and teach at our school in future, even though is here for a very short time. She is an FCE holder and has a very high standard of teaching English though is not certified to teach English. She also need to attend a course of English language teaching metodology, we suppose. The last and the youngest one, teaching Geography and English language at our school, is still studying at university. Being a teacher of Geography, she should be given a chance to see and learn more about Europe, we think. This could definitely develope her language skills as well as increase her language portfolio. The aim of the project is to achieve and increase an interest in foreign language, build up a positive attitude, enrich the knowledge, be able to read with understanding of technical terms, be able to communicate at a native level and also be able to feel and understand a particular culture cognition in its own native language. Basically, to be so good to feel at home in any foreign language. The main aim of this project is a realization of eight tours to the above mentioned four English teachers to England in coming two years to gain needed qualification for their work as a teacher of English. The first objective is to visit as large area of GB and Ireland as possible and make a large school portfolio compiled of authentic materials such as tickets, leaflets, booklets, bulletins, guiders, magazines etc. and also of taken photographs which finally could be used as teaching aids and help everybody during English lessons. However, the most important objective is the personal exerience of all participants that they will gain during these tours. We would wish all the candidates to understand the importance and necessity of communication in English language and everyday training, not only during the lessons, but also in their personal lives, reading with understanding and working with various sources of information, as well as an ability to seek out information in a text and to use them in further communication. We also want them to use common terms, signs and symbols, various teaching methods and strategies as well as interconnect phenomenas of language with knowledge from other different educational sectors through the cross-curricular teaching and project teaching and learning, also improve their ability to find several ways in solving different problems which arise due to usage of foreign language in everyday life. We also want them to improve self-evaluation, clarify failure reasons, specify the ways to achieve better results in learning English, be able to solve unexpected situations in foreign language/alien environment, use all the accessible sources to solve all the problems and also eliminate a fear of alien environment, also be able to word their thoughts in English language, understand a speech and a text in English, use the learned English language skills to make a contact or a relation and speak English grammatially well. We also want them to use the assertive way of communication while speaking to members of foreign nations, colaborate as a part of an English speaking team, make their maximum, get an idea of customs and traditions in English speaking countries, utilize knowledge and skills, get information from different areas of our lives and also interconnect their findings, skills and knowledge with their work.
