Today surgical interventions have turned out to be carried out in a common manner rather than being the last choice of treatment thanks to rapid technological developments, and progress in pre and post operation patient care and in anaesthesia. It is a well known fact that complications may occur in the post - operative period regardless of the size or type of the surgical intervention. Cardiovascular problems, atelectasia, wound infection, paralytic ileus, urinary retention and infection are among the most common complications which may occur in the post - operative period. When the complications which occur in post - operative periods are not treated and solved with a sound nursing care, traumatic results may be inevitable in the patients. Patients may suffer from such traumatic post - operative complications, and they may even be disabled or death may occur. Financial and spiritual losses may reach irreparable levels for the patients and their relatives. They also cause unnecessary increase in medical expenditures. Our project will help learning advanced level of nursing approaches which may occur in the earlu period during post - operative periods of patients and determining deficiencies in nursing care applications. The capabilities of the school and hospital will be mobilized thanks to the efficiency of our project participants who give training in this field in various regions of our country and complication risks will be prevented in the patients in post - operative periods, and their experiences will be transferred to the students of nursing. This project will enhance the professional qualifications and efficiencies of the participants. Moreover, our participants will have the opportunity to improve themselves in the linguistic, cultural, and social fields as well. Our participants will also obtain direct experience for joint works and project participation in out partner institutions.
