Los Cerros High School is located in Úbeda and has a wide educational offer (compulsory secondary education, bachillerato, vocational training and education for adults). Within Vocational Education our school counts on seven professional families. Four of them share both Intermediate and Higher level (Nursery, IT and communication, Administration and Electricity and Electronics). Our aim is to give more opportunities in the Higher level of Vocational Training. Recently we have known that our latest Erasmus + project has been approved, something that encourages us to keep on working with this project. The main objective of our project is to improve the job insertion of our students at Intermediate level of Vocational training thanks to the professional competences and personal development they will reach after a period of traineeship in an European company. Developing their communicative skills in a foreign language is decisive for our students. Nowadays learning a new language or improving the knowledge in a foreign one is so important when finding and keeping a job. Apart from this, knowing an European country as Poland and working in a different working place will definitely increase creativity and innovation in our students. We expect that this experience will foster their entrepreneurial spirit. With this project our school wants to widen the list of contacts (other schools, companies and teachers) in Europe Another aim is to make teachers aware of the tools to validate the competences acquired during the traineeship period abroad. This project has another aim: watch the labour market and try to adapt the availability of Vocational Courses to the needs of the companies in our country and abroad. All these objectives agree with the aims in the strategic plan of Education and Formation 2020. In the last two years, 13 students have participated in this project, 6 per year. The one remaining is a student who applied for a “Zero Grant”. The students’ profile is a student in the second course who has passed the selection process established. Regarding the activities done, they are a complement in the training process of the students, which is associated to the Formation in the Working place. Half process takes place in Spain and the other half in a foreign country. Each student has done different training courses depending on their professional profile. The students who were selected to participate in this project have had the opportunity to develop themselves both professionally and personally. Moreover, they have improved their communicative skills, which will help them introduce themselves in the working market, foster their formative progress by studying a Higher course in vocational training, or even start a company on their own. One of our students (Javier Valera Bautista), who was our student last year, has been appointed for a job in an international company, bearing in mind that his participation in the Erasmus + project has been so beneficial in his formation. Moreover, Raúl Periche Martínez, currently studying at our school, has received and offer to work in the same company where he did his traineeship course in Poland. He is seriously thinking about accepting this offer. In the future we expect to increase the number of mobilities and give this opportunity to more students.
