The project called "PORastieme spolu" (= We will grow together) is a part of our Program of Personal and Professional Growth (Program Osobného a Profesijného Rastu - POPRast) that we launched this year at our school. The aim of the project is to present the members of staff with opportunity of developing their teaching and managing skills. The teachers will not only use the acquired skills in their everyday practice, but they will also share them with their colleagues. The chosen memebers of staff are these: Zuzana Fabriciová, the leader of the Languages Department. She leads a group of teachers teaching foreign languages (English, German and Spanish). Apart from teaching she is also responsible for the growth and professional development of teachers. Kristína Kallová, English language teacher. She teaches English to kids from age 7 - 11 and is also responsible for the project Penpals (communication between our pupils and children from Japan) as well as a group of children participating in iKid - project with startups. The chosen teachers will take part at a course in Great Britain. As a result they will develop their knowledge and skills in the field of teaching foreign languages. They will also improve their language skills and gain connections with teachers and professionals in the field of education from various foreign countries. The connections should serve an ongoing mutual inspiration, cooperation and creating connections between our pupils and pupils form other European countries. The course in Britain will be followed by a series of seminars that falls into our Program of Personal and Professional Growth (POPRast). The members of staff, who will have taken part in the course, will share the acquired skills and knowledge with their colleagues and will regularly evaluate how they succeed in implementing it into their teaching. Our goal is a constant improvement of our teaching methods and exploring how technology can be useful in teaching. We believe that if our teachers take part in a course aimed at using new methods and technology in classroom, it will not only enrich them professionally, but they will also be able to make connections with teachers and professionals form other European countries. We believe that these connections will be long-term and will help an ongoing improvement of our teachers.
