#Poland #Russia 2.0: Mutual perception of Polish and Russian people in new media” – is a project of Polish-Russian cultural exchange realized by Eastern Initiative Institute and Viribezhian public youth organization „Politika i Wriemija“. In pjocect také part 26 people (12 students from bith Polans and Russia including 10 people from small citys and two liders – memners od IWI and PW). The main goal of the project is minimizing the language barrier and promotion of dialogue between Poland and Russia with use of the innovative Web 2.0 toolset, where every user is not only a receiver but also an active creator of content. The purpose of the project is to analyze the image of a a Russian in new media in Poland (social media, memes, demotivators, videos on portals like YouTube), to define existing stereotypes and to confront them with reality. It is to be accomplished by community interviews, integration and cultural camps and finally deconstruction of previously recognized stereotypes. The result of this project will be an elimination of the cultural barriers, deepening of the dialogue and the creation of permanent bond between the participants of the project. Additional component, in the character of observation and comparative analysis of modern Polish and Russian culture by visits to modern art museums, theatre or cinema, will increase the knowledge of the participants about shared history, culture and art. Additionally, through means of establishing the project in virtual space thanks to portals such as Facebook, Vkontakte, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and YouTube; and uploading the final effects of the project to an interactive cloud data storage, it will be possible to spread the results among other Internet users, and most importantly, among young people who are very familiar with such a way of accessing information. In the end, the stereotype of a Russian present in modern media will be deconstructed with the use of Web 2.0 toolset, exactly the same one which will allow spreading the results later on. Each and every time the results of the project will be made available to access.
