Policy for Corporate Social Responsibility: the EU experience

The importance of the CSR policy of the EU lies in its active encouragement to react to any global or regional problems obstructing the sustainable global development. In 2011 the European Commission adopted CSR Development Strategy that was based on the new strategy of the EU «Europe 2020». Issues connected with CSR are actively elaborated by the experts in the EU that work in sphere of corporate management. The extensive legislative framework stimulates CSR activities in the EU. The module helps to extend the knowledge of the processes of European integration in sphere of CSR. The aim of the course is to spread the information about the processes of European integration in sphere of CSR through educational activities. The module includes 2 roundtable debates on the policy of relations between business, society and authority in the EU. Participants that complete the course will be awarded an Advanced Training Certificate.All the information on the EU policy in sphere of CSR is available free. It will be posted on the official OMSU site. This will ease students’ access to the materials of the course at any time. The course involves active participation of students in professional trainings, business games, elaboration of business cases, usage of interactive methods of education, resentations, videos. The course is adapted for various audiences: students, businessmen, civil society and anyone who wants to be competent in the EU theory and practice in sphere of CSR. The process of teaching is cross-sectoral. This process will be popularized among the students from neighboring regions and introduced through various mass-media such as television and Internet.
