POETRY WANDERS THE STREETS
Date du début: 1 mai 2016, Date de fin: 30 nov. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

There is a new poetry that is springing out of books to invade social networks and meeting places. Oral poetry is waking up, becoming independent both from the editorial cage and from traditional folklore festivities. The project POETRY WANDERS THE STREETS aims to promote and develop this new way of enjoying culture, widening the horizons of the audience and providing it with the tools and encouragement needed to actively participate in this living poetry that has started wandering our streets. The fundamental axis of the project are:- An “Oral Poetry Invasion” of 4 storytelling festivals well established in their respective towns (i.e., a whole programme inspired in oral poetry, with individual and collective oral poetry performances in venues, town squares, institutions…)- An Encounter of 9 oral poetry artists who will spend two weeks together in order to create a collective, original performance that will be put on stage in the 4 participating towns. These artists will also participate individually in the festivals.- An Oral Poetry Seminar in each town, with the participation of the artists involved in the Encounter & performance as well as other oral poetry experts. The Seminars will be open, but the organisers will prioritise the participation of local culture and education professionals (teachers, librarians…) as well as storytellers or other theatrical professionals.- A Formative and Creative Workshop on oral poetry in each town that will be carried out in 4 months. The workshops will be developed in several groups, each with a workshop leader (for instance, a group of high school students led by a teacher). There will also be a general workshop coordinator per country. The participants will attend at least 4 oral poetry performances, and will carry out practical work in order to conceive, organise and carry out a great popular celebration of poetry in each town to commemorate the World Poetry Day. All the workshop leaders will have attended the Seminars
