The aims of the project included: - rising the communicational and methodological competences of the employed teachers (foreign language teachers and those teaching Geography and Maths with English as a language of instruction); - starting up new contacts to develop new projects in the future (youth exchanges, eTwinning and other); - widening the spectrum of international projects run by the school; - enhancing the popularity of ICT in teaching ; - broadening the knowledge concerning cultural issues in language teaching. The participants of the project were: - language teachers (English, Spanish); - maths,CAS, PE and geography teachers; - school management team members including subject group leaders, altogether 8 people. All the participants choose the courses bearing the School Development Plan in mind. Accepting institutions provided the participants with accomodation at hotels, families or students' hostels. Spreading the effects of the project included: - information for all the teachers concerning the possibilities, application process and effects of the project during the teachers' meetings, conferences and private talks; - using school web site as well as school TV to inform school community about the project. The following competences were developed due to the project: - communicational; - language; - methodological; - ICT in education; - using English in CLIL; - cultural awareness in language teaching; - teaching in multicultural societies. The participants enriched their knowledge in the following areas: - practical knowledge and using foreign languages; - teaching strategies concerning elements of culture, geography and history; - teaching methodology, including using English in teaching Maths and Geography; - history, geography and culture of the areas where the foreign languages are spoken; - using new technologies in education; - using new tools in CLIL. Taking part in the courses surely enabled the teachers to be more open to other cultures after having observed the work with multi-cultural groups. The teachers established new contacts which will in the future give us possibilities to start new projects of different kinds: youth exchange or eTwinning, thus making it possible for the schools to offer more educational opportunities to our students. The school was offered possibilities to organize students exchange project by one of the accepting institutions that we will use next year.
