Vocational Secondary School of Constructing, Architecture and Geodesy “Kolio Ficheto” is a secondary school with traditions. The strategic plan for development of the school has in its core the improvement of English language teaching and the professional development of foreign language teachers.The aims of the project “More qualified teachers, more competitive school!” are:1. Enhancement of the language competences of the pedagogical staff.2. Enhancement and improvement of students’ oral fluency in English corresponding with the requirements of the labor market in the EU.3. Encouragement of cooperation and collaboration among teachers from Vocational Secondary School “Kolio Ficheto”.The above aims will be achieved through the following key actions:Key action 1 – Teachers will take part in training courses at IPC-Exeter, UK, entitled: “Better English for Teachers” – October 2016, “Creative Methodology for Teachers”- October 2016 and “Developing Oral Fluency in the English Language Classroom”- April 2017. Key action 2 – Integration and multiplication of the results from the training.The participation in the project is voluntary. The selected training courses achieve the aims of the “Erasmus+” programme – enhancement of European cooperation and collaboration in the field of education, improvement of teaching and learning of foreign languages, promotion of language diversity and intercultural awareness. The selected training courses include various methods which have proved to be an effective way of gaining knowledge and language skills during mobility.The completion of the key actions will have a positive effect not only upon the personal and professional development of the participants in the project, but upon the language competences of the students who are the ultimate consumer of education.On students’ level the positive effect will be:1. The acquired techniques during the training course will improve students’ learning abilities. 2. Students will their language competences and oral fluency.3. Students will gain confidence in oral communication and increase their career opportunities on the labor market in the EU.4. Students will increase their sense of initiative and thus motivate themselves for future projects. 5. Students will be motivated to participate in mobilities.The effects on participation level will be:1. Teachers taking part in the training courses will acquire techniques which will improve their language and professional competences.2. Teachers will improve the quality of their immediate work – teaching and educating, thus bringing benefit to students.3. Teachers will have better opportunities for professional career development.4. Teachers will increase their initiative, their self-confidence as professionals and their desire for cooperation and collaboration with colleagues, students and the school management.5. Teachers will increase their motivation and satisfaction in doing their professional obligations.The effects on school level will be:1. The participation in this project and the outcomes it will bring, will impose a new way of English language teaching. Thus it will satisfy the need for a modern, contemporary and practically oriented education corresponding with the goals of the EU and the strategic plan for development of Vocational Secondary School “Kolio Ficheto”.2. The school pedagogical staff will gain better qualification, improved cooperation and collaboration among teachers and better and motivating working environment. 3. Vocational Secondary School “Kolio Ficheto” will be integrated in the European educational opportunities and will be able to withstand and compete with other schools.4. Vocational Secondary School “Kolio Ficheto” will increase its European capacity through cooperation and collaboration with partners from different European countries.5. Vocational Secondary School “Kolio Ficheto” will use the acquired experience in the implementation of future projects.The following results will be achieved:1. Total number of mobilities – 7.2. Total number of trained teachers in Bulgaria – 50.3. Increase in students’ results:- at the exams in the 8th and the 12th grade.- general increase in the results.
