Play Opera and Folk
Date du début: 18 mai 2016, Date de fin: 17 nov. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Play Opera and FolkThe project takes place in Macerata and consists of two activities:- European Voluntary Service of short-term (June / August) involving 12 volunteers, one host organization (Municipality of Macerata), and 4 sending organizations of Spain and Portugal, France and Poland.- Youth exchange August 16 to 22 involving 60 participants aged between 18 and 30 years, two Italian partners (Municipality of Macerata and the association The Pistacoppi), 1 partner from Spain and one partner from Russia (informal group of young people). The goal is to live a unique and personal learning experience for a group of young people in an intercultural context but at the same time in close contact with the local community. The glue for people with different backgrounds (cultural, social and religious) will be the tradition and identity: 'traditional' culture will be the common ground, and not a cause for division, which create an exchange / intercultural learning and a reflection on what are the values to be shared. The first activity is expected the participation of young people in the international event Macerata Opera Festival, hosts every year in Macerata and which is now in its 52nd edition. Volunteers will be able to perform the service in close contact with all the workers involved and develop their skills in professions related to the show, theatre and events. They will live a complete journey: preparations and stage production, will share their experience with artists and highly skilled professionals, often from abroad; take part in the cultural and social life of the city; come into contact with the youth of Macerata and associations. The second activity is a youth exchange dedicated to intercultural dialogue. Associations and informal groups have in common the goal to promote traditional music and dance. It is expected, therefore, to organize an experience sharing during the morning, through role playing, discussions, simulations and workshops, make people think on the meaning of intercultural education and develop skills such as learning to live together. In the afternoon we move from theory to practice and reflection: they will share the folk traditions of the three countries through practical workshops on dance, song and choreography with the ultimate goal of creating a small show that it is a synthesis of the three folk traditions.
