PLAN EUROPEO DE DESARROLLO INTEGRAL PARA EL FOMENTO DE LA DIVERSIDAD Y LA CONVIVENCIA CIUDADANA

The “European Plan for Strategic Development to Foster Diversity and Citizenship” is presented by a consortium of three associations: La Xixa Teatre is an non-profit association whose objective is to research, develop and multiply tools of social theatre as means of social transformation; Fil a l’Agulla is a cooperative whose objective is to accompany processes of awareness that contribute to personal and collective transformation; and the Institute of Process Work and Deep Democracy is an association with the purpose of promoting and disseminating Process Work, also known as Process Oriented Psychology, through courses, research and the organization of seminar and conferences. The consortium holds a broad experience related to social transformation using diverse methodologies, particularly Theatre of the Oppressed and Process Work. Process Work offers a model which integrates and uses contributions from various disciplines to facilitate the transformation and growth both at an individual level and a collective level. The methodology is applied in different areas: community and organizational development, training in diversity and leadership, individual and family psychotherapy, relationship counseling and group facilitation. Process work is an innovative paradigm and methodology for social intervention. Likewise, theatre of the Oppressed puts theatre at the service of adult education. It is a methodology which consists of games and theatrical exercises which foster observation, as well as critical and propositive action of the participants, who become both spectators and actors of the conflicts they present on stage. This methodology promotes critical reflection through action. The “European Plan for Strategic Development to Foster Diversity and Citizenship” is oriented towards the continuous training of the staff of the consortium institutions. The main objective of the training is for the staff to consolidate and renovate their knowledge in Process Work and Theatre of the Oppressed, so as to fulfil the needs which were identified in the internal strategic analysis of the consortium. The three institutions of the consortium share these two methodologies as working tools, to transform society according to values which foster an inclusive society where all forms of human diversity are fully accepted, as well as visibilizing dialogue as a form of mutual empowerment for consensus and search for alternatives. Educational theatre and Process Work are essential tools for critical thinking and process of social change, which allow for the concretion of conflict situations to manage them and learn from them. That is why we are in a constant search and re-elaboration of our training proposals, to give answer to the challenges of the social problematic in which we develop our tasks. the main objectives of this project are: to contribute to the social transformation of our society which is increasingly diverse and complex; to increase the abilities and empowerment of the technical staff of the consortium; to increase the quality, depth and innovation of the trainings offered by the institutions of the consortium; to increase the staff’s knowledge about Process Work in its different areas of application, as well as their knowledge on the esthetic of Theatre of the Oppressed; to promote sustainability of the institutions of the consortium and the projects implemented through continuous training; and to acquire a European dimension at an institutional and consortium level, strengthening bonds and contacts, to achieve broader perspectives and exchange experiences that allow the consortium to be more innovative and international, as well as broaden their area of influence. To achieve this goals, and the needs to which they answer, 5 training courses have been planned for the consortium, in 4 highly renowned institutions from 3 different member States (Germany, Slovakia, and the UK), for a total of 21 training days and 32 participants. Participation in the training courses will have as expected results the improvements in the abilities of the technical staff of the consortium, which develops their training activities. The project includes a Dissemination Plan, an Evaluation Plan, and a set of activities for the integration of the acquired competences and experiences to the strategic development of the consortium.
