The ten days youth exchange will be organized In Holloko, Hungary during the beginning of May 2016 : 1st of May until 12th of May 2016. The overall aim of the exchange is finding ways of fostering and strengthening the understanding of difference and diversity in the youth of our European societies by sharing experiences, ideas and practices of migration issues, discussing and debating the benefits of migration, diversity and multiculturalism. To achieve this aim we bring together young people from 6 different countries who are active on the field of migration and multiculturalism. For this exchange we will bring together youth between the age of 18 and 25 from 6 different countries: Albania,Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portual and UK. The participating youth organizations for this exchange are : Beyond Barriers Albania, Egyesek Youth Association, Agora Vairo, VIA e.v, Xchange Scotland and YMCA.The diversity, multiculturality and difference that can be found in this region are seen as a big asset for this exchange and as well for our long term work in the county. We have worked with the local youth communities in the region for 5-6 years and from our vast experience shows the lack of understanding and acceptance of diversity, multiculturalism and especially migration and transnationalism. The participants of the project will be able to critically look at the issue of migration by not only focusing on the last wave which is currently happening in Europe but look in a more wider context and at the same time through discussion and debate be able to relate it to multiculturalism and diversity already existing in Europe. Through this exchange the participants will examine their social and ethnical problems that they identify in their societies and communities raising in this way the discussion and debate to an international level.Organizing a youth exchange with the focus on fostering, understanding and development of the participants view on migration, diversity and multiculturalism we build on the most important common values of European Union such as solidarity, democracy, mobility, cultural diversity and equality. The highlight of this project will be a flash mob organized in the city of Budapest where the participants will be the prime actors behind its thinking, organizing and implementing. The flash mob will be the voice with which the participants will spread the experience and ideas gained in the days of the exchange and at the same time a message for the wider society and themselves as well.
