Project Background: Sending trainees into an EU country is one of the most essential contributions for the education and training of future graduates, moreover it is one of the basic aims to educate committed EU citizens. Teaching with the awareness of intercultural aspects is a basic principle in the HLW-FW Zwettl. The awareness of a European sense of unity and belonging is promoted by a constant cross-cultural exchange and meeting of people to give them an insight into their world of work as well as their life in general. Consequently internships and work-placemets abroad prepare and qualify trainees for international competition as well as encourage their mobility for job reasons. Education and training of social skills which have been learned during their college education can be tested on the job. Cross-cultural language skills which is the command as well as learning of a new 'lingua franca' in the EU can serve as an advantage in international competition. Knowledge, insight and skills achieved during an internship are basic for European networks as well as European and global players of the future. Thus meeting, insight and cross-cultural exchange should be the basis for a common EU -future inspired by terms of interest and openness. As part of the compulsory internship, lasting for twelve weeks, many of the students will be sent to upmarket hotels and restaurants abroad. Trainees have to find and apply at a business on their own, therefore a written contract of employment has to be made on agreement of both. This procedure and project will be granted financial support by ERASMUS +, consequently our school applies for this . In applying for ERASMUS + we not only do have the intention to enrich professionalism in the field of 'education and learning' but also to widen the cross-cultural horizon of all participants. Moreover multicultural ideas as well as the aims of ERASMUS+ will become part of the school's programme and guiding principle henceforth. Finally this would be seen as an advantage for the HLW-FW Zwettl, giving our college more competitiveness amon
