Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Name of the Project: Internship of breath and life giving hands for petite bodies at pediatric emergencies. From our school and our companion vocational and technical high schools; 35 students from the departments of Emergency Health Technicians (EHT), 28 students from the departments of Nursing; at total 63 participant students and 6 consultant teachers will participate in the project. Infant Death Rate(IDR) demonstrates both education and health level of a country. According to European Statistics Foundation (EUROSTAT) ; in 2011, the average IDR of Europe was defined as 3,9 per thousand. Sweden with 2.1, Italy with 3.2, and Germany with 3.6 per thousand are at the first place countries. According to the data given by Ministry of Health, in 2012, Turkey has an IDR of 11.6 per thousand , which is highly above the European average. Considering the data, the number of newborns death in one year in Turkey equals the number of people death in Marmara Earthquake. %80 of infant deaths is due to the emergency cases developing inside or outside the hospital. The most significant of them are traffic accidents, electrical shocks, drowning, burns, falling, confusion, high fever, acute-abdomen and aspiration of food or any objects. Every step taken at the first minutes following the event which requires early intervention means a choice between life and death. At Pediatric Emergencies, If early intervention occurs soon after the problem clearly defined, the progress which can go through respiratory insufficiency, shock, cardiac arrest and death can be prevented. If there is a respiratory or cardio-vascular problem of the infants, rapid definition and early intervention is very crucial. Fitting out the health staff with a high level of knowledge and skills on symptoms, indications and treatments about pediatric diseases, improves the quality of the nursing. Before hospitaling , Emergency Health Technicans(EHT) , paramedics care the infant. After the first intervention, the infant is taken to the pediatric emergency unit and emergency nurses perform the care and treatment. Emergency Health Service is at the beginning level in Turkey where as it is at the advanced level in European Union countries. Our participants need to learn new approaches and techniques about pediatric emergencies at European Union standart, to observe the emergency pediatric nursing applications in the host countries and to transfer the progressive, different and effective ones. At this point, education and internship quality of the health staff who will work in pediatric emergency is quite important for the first-line treatment. In critical pediatric emergencies, intervention correctly and effectively on time is possible by identifying the pediatric emergency in a short time and by applying a professional nursing service. For proficiency, it is needed to obtain knowledge and to have experience, self-confidence and the ability in order to act instinctively. With this project, to train experienced and high qualified pediatric emergency staff who has accurate knowledge and implement at infant emergency nursing is aimed. It is aimed for the participants that they progress knowledge and skill by observing the pediatric emergency care approaches, educations, applications, and different techniques in the host countries. Thanks to this training program the participants will also have opportunity to compare the differences about the vocational education between European Countries and Turkey. Also, it is aimed to develop language and communication skills. At the end of the project, we are planning to : - Prepare CD/VCD, brochure and booklet in accordance with the education. - Prepare short films about pediatric emergency, organise seminars. - Ensure the application and generalisation of the project among the country by preparing algorithms and locating them in the modules in the vocational education system. - Contribute the training of Emergency technicians and nurses qualified at European Union standards and who have a high level of skills and are well-adjusted with the progressive and technological developments about the pediatric emergency. - Ensure particular employment for the participants through the certificates that will be received. Thus, by identifying the pediatric emergency soon and giving the accurate and effective attempts immediately, the infant deaths will be reduced Educating sophisticated Emergency Health Technicians and nurses at European Union standards, improving health-care supply and reducing infant death rate and ensuring to improve health level are the expected results of the project.
