Agriculture” has fixed an objective to provide youngsters with skills and abilities necessary for gaining success in contemporary world, which is a very important factor in their lives. A significant precondition for acquisition of these qualities is possibility and capability to work individually and in groups, and flexibility to organise their own learning process. This is a process that allows a person to efficiently manage their time as well as assimilate new knowledge and skills in various new aspects.For school staff to better pursue its goals and help students to study successfully and acknowledge their abilities and skills as well as to enable them to adjust to new ways of learning. Kandava State Technical School of Agriculture implements both general secondary education and vocational education, thus it should set high standards for its teachers’ qualifications, and the school will well appreciate the opportunity for its teachers to take the courses offered by Erasmus +. This would promote the development of young people and their future outlook as they can become more competitive both in Latvia and in Europe. These professional development courses will offer the possibility not only to raise awareness of current trends in teaching methods, but also enhance and energize teachers' language competence, expanding their horizons of acknowledgement of different European cultural values and traditions. Application of modern methods in lessons will encourage young people to debate about the need for quality education, expanding their knowledge about the European Union by integrating cross-cultural elements of school life and the expansion of the European dimension. It is therefore genuinely necessary for our teachers to attend the said courses. When selecting the development courses a number of factors were taken into account - the organizers’ long-term experience, (the chosen organizers have been working in the sphere for years), the topicality and suitability of themes for the relevant subjects (English, Latvian, Cultural Science and History, Business English), as well as the relevance of themes to the aims of the school (quality improvement with implementation of innovative teaching methods, as well as insurance of sustainable education quality and efficiency of teaching methods).
