Pedagogisk jobbutveksling i Østerrike
Date du début: 31 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project is cooperation between the Norwegian National Centre for Foreign Languages in Education and the Austrian Council for Education and Women. It is established to offer teachers of German as a foreign language (GFL) in lower and upper secondary schools an exchange programme between the nations. The participants from Norway are nominated after an application round, and two teachers from two different schools in Norway are offered the opportunity to take part in an exchange between Norway and Austria in November 2015. The exchange will last for two weeks. German will be the work language during the stay and the goal is to strengthen the participants' language skills and cultural knowledge about Austria. Through a two weeks - stay the participants will take part in courses outlining the Austrian school system and about GFL. There will also be several school visits during the first week to schools in Vienna and its suburbs. In the second week of the stay, the Council has set up contact persons and a school, in which the participants will take part in jobshadowing and teaching assessments. Each participant is encouraged to prepare a presentation with different aspects of their country; history, geography and culture. The presentation is to be used for educational purposes. There will also be given possibilities to follow other colleagues at the partner school. Our school wants to strengthen our international development plan to include European mobility in addition to carrying out international cooperation activities through etwinning projects. We want for our participant to achieve renewed competence in her work as a GFL - teacher, and add new working methods to the foreign language education so that it will be considered modernized. It is a condition that this competence will be shared with the staff of foreign language teaching at our school after the stay. Our school also aims to promote a higher status for GFL for youth who are choosing which foreign language they will study when attending lower secondary school. We want the number of pupils who choose German as a foreign language to increase. The reason is that this language has lost a lot of learners over the past decade. We plan to promote this project to the 7th graders (12 year olds) before they make their decision on which foreign language they want to learn the next school year. It is necessary and important to the school to build a strategy to further develop the school's international dimension plans. International cooperating activities provide the opportunities to vary the teaching methods, and to develop new learning strategies. They can contribute to support individually adjusted learning assignments, stimulate the motivation for learning and make the pupils develop their own learning strategies. It would be a pity not to enhance the opportunities that international cooperation in the education have to offer!
