Overhaul of cadastral mapping and integration of the regional digital mapping for the territorial information systems of local authorities through new experimental remote sensing technologies
Date du début: 31 mars 2003, Date de fin: 30 mars 2007 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project activities aim at fully harmonizing the technical specifications, which the two bordering territories refer to in the field of mapping. This project is characterized by a high technological and scientific profile and is the first example of cooperation between the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Republic of Slovenia. To achieve these objectives, large-scale, accurate and updated topographic databases are necessary and shall be translated into computer-based patterns to ensure a consistent update of the cadastral mapping. The recent technological innovations provide the opportunity to use new measuring systems, based on air and land laser scanning, whereby a huge quantity of accurate high-density data on the sensed area can be acquired and stored, facilitating and simplifying the creation of topographic bases. The peculiarity of this project lies in the opportunity to detect a common language between the various types of mapping so that, by means of topographic data, one can provide, even within a three-dimensional space, a uniform representation of the territory. The development of the project envisages several stages: coordination activities, a research laboratory in the fields of geomatics and overhaul of cadastral mapping, experimental and innovative sensing techniques and dissemination of results during training sessions.
