OUVERTUR PROFESSIONNELLE EN ANGLETERRE POUR LES ELEVES DU LYCEE PROFESSIONNEL A FOSSES
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Who is concerned ? When they are on their last diploma year, Charles Baudelaire Secondary School – which is located in Fosses in the Gonesse area (95) – gives ten Sales and Receptionist students the opportunity to go on a trainee period in Plymouth. The group of students consists of 8 girls and 2 boys, all living in or near Fosses. These young men and women are really motivated to experiment life abroad, to open their minds and be confronted with the Anglosaxon culture. Thus we want them to be part of a European project so as to be efficient on the labour market. Thanks to this project, they could become autonomous, open their minds and learn how to adapt to the working situations. These qualities are essential for future Salesmen / Saleswomen and future Receptionists. What does this project consist in ? It is a four-week internship under agreement preceded by an integration week in a language school. Our students will live in host families and they will be followed through twice by the School and the Service Provider. Where will it happen ? In Plymouth – a big, economical, cultural, cosmopolitan European City which highly attracts young people and which is near France. When will it happen ? On November 2014. With who ? 1/ A united teaching staff : the English teachers, the Sale and Reception teachers and the Headmaster. Their roles consist in preparing, accompanying and assessing the students. They also run the project : its organisation and its funds. 2/ The Sales and Reception companies which accommodate our pupils. We are in constant contact during the trainee period. Our students are trained and assessed by reliable professional tutors. 3/ The Service Provider : we work with CEI and its French representatives. CEI has many qualities : they are in touch with us, they rapidly react to solve our problems and their work philosophy corresponds to our prerogatives. Our aims. The goals of this project consist in giving our students a European professional experience, in developping their abilities and in enriching their cultural and social environment. The aims of the project : 1/ We want our students to be aware of the European dimension and to create a link between their job and the English language. 2/ We want them to be proud of this project as they are its main actors. It is essential to pass knowledge on through a work experience on a foreign country. 3/ Through the trainee periods, we want to create a link between the British teaching staff and our trainee program. The assessment: 1/ an assessment of the trainee period : we must assess our students for the BTEC National Diploma, following the previously English translated examination grid. They must write a trainee report in order to succeed in the European test on the 2015 BTEC National Diploma. Finally the trainee assessment appears on the students' final school reports. 2/ An assessment of the students' interest for their foreign experience. They must fill a grid in before and after their internship. 3/ An assessment of the Service provider. 4/ An assessment of the project : we create a log (the different steps of the project, the contributors, the goals and the adjustments). 5/ Indicators: an assessment grid, a log, the bugget, the Diploma and European test rates, the rate of students integrating a BTEC Higher National Diploma and the improvements in English. 6/ The assessment of the trainee tutors in order to improve and adapt our reports to the professional fields. A spread project: A Europass ceremony. An experience shared on the School Open Day and on the Area Schools. An Internet newspaper. A “European Class” blog. The Context: A united and mobilized school : the headmasters, the teaching staff, the students and their families. The European Ressource Center and Mrs Moquin (for her pieces of advice). Sale and Reception companies and our Service Provider – Tellus group. The European Commission which allows us to propose this project to our students.
