Outdoors as a tool: Job Shadowing for Youth workers
Date du début: 1 août 2016, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

After a succesfull Job Shadowing project last year, we want to offer our partners this chance this year again. This almost 2 month during Job Shadowing project focuses on giving youth workers from other organizations an opportunity to learn from experienced youth workers and trainers. They will have a look on how we work in our organisation with youngsters and how we started our new campsite for groups. Experiential learning is the main method used in both Buitendoor as in the sending organizations and will also be the method used in this project. The participants will get training in group dynamics, communication styles, teambuilding with youngsters, management and leadership. The aim is to improve the quality of youth work by giving young workers the opportunity to gain new skills in order to develop them selves and their organizations. The project is hosted by Buitendoor from the Netherlands and will take place 2nd of August till the 30th of September (excluding travel days) at our campsite in Nunspeet and a venue near Hilversum, the Netherlands. 6 youth workers, aged 18 to 30, with different levels of experience, coming from Macedonia, Bulgaria and Russia. During the project we will monitor personal development of the participants by questionnaires, individual coaching and group sessions. The youth workers will keep up a personal development plan and at the end we will try to gather as much as possible of the shared information and knowledge in a document. This can be shared freely with all people interested in these topics. Next to that we will emphasize the connections and networks between the organizations and individuals involved in the project. Because we believe that we are all facing challenges that others already have encountered so we can benefit largely from each others experience.
