Outdoor education is an area of research and interdisciplinary education including , among others, the learning space moved in life, in society, natural and cultural environment, underlined the interaction between sensorial experience and learning, emphasized the importance of the environment. The project "Outdoor - a new perspective of Elementary Education" provided a new learning experience, innovation and European collaboration and aimed to develop the professional skills of teachers in kindergarten, their ability for experiential approach , to active-participative methods, the promoting international cooperation and transfer of examples of good practice in outdoor education in preschool. In this project, 17 of teachers from Kindergarten with extended hours "House of Stories" from Craiova beneficiated a European training in the Outdoor pedagogy, through structured courses organized for the 5 days, as follows: - Course " Outdoor training: learning by real experience ", held in Spain, five participants; - Course " Outdoor Education- Learning Different Subjects Outdoors " held in the Cyprus, eight participants; - Course "Outdoor Leadership" held in Portugal, four participants. Participants in these courses took part in the cooperative workshops, containing an interdisciplinary thematic based on "learning by doing" combined with "reflection on action" methods. The experiential activities, with "heart, head and hand", covered the three main parts of Outdoor Education : personal and social development, outdoor activities and environmental education. In the course "Outdoor Leadesrship" the fundamental approach to course program management was the holistic method. Participants exchanged the experiences and best practices. The last day, was a retrospective of the week of training, participants reflected on how the training objectives were met and did the evaluation of the course. Participants presented an Action Plan for implementing Outdoor pedagogy within their institution and discussed the ways to implement the European model and adjust outdoor activities to the specifics of the students level , to the curriculum and local conditions. At the end of training, the 17 participants had improved skills, that will acquire knowledge and will develop skills that will be reflected in the efficiency of work, their career development, raising the prestige of the school and improving the institutional performance. They were become familiar with news of the art, teaching and assessment methods, directions in Outdoor research and concept and were able to transfer good European practices by experimenting innovative teaching-learning outdoor strategies and interactive games’ types in teaching. They discovered the culture and tradition of other participating countries and proved flexibility, tolerance with students. All participants improved their language skills. Kindergarten Casuta cu Povesti will valorize at the institutional level the project results by designing curricular optional programs. The participants will present to methodological committee the best practices learned and the tools developed and used during the course will be made available to colleagues, in order to develop their skills and abilities in the field. The international strategy development in education, training and personal development will facilitate the developing partnerships with various organizations in the country and transnational cooperation. The European best practices will be disseminated among other kindergartens and schools in pedagogical circles, symposia, conferences and other forms of scientific and methodological activities or by published articles by participants in magazines. Materials created during the course or during the implementation of different outdoor activities implemented by participantson their return or by methodological committees will be available at the methodical office and will be posted online on the project blog. It will be designed and proposed to the Dolj Teachers Training Center a training course on Outdoor for kindergarden teachers. Kindergarten Casuta cu Povesti will thus become a resource center for Outdoor pedagogy.
