Outdoor Education and Experiential learning as a quality methodology to increase self-critical aware

The seminar will last 7 days and will be held in Sydra Langholt-Fludir- Iceland. Participants are thirty five trainers, youth workers and coordinators cooperating with 5 different Organizations from Belgium, Italy, Iceland, Lithuania and France.The partner Organizations and the group of participants have a common experience of participating in a long term training programme (2009 and 2011) with the informal network of “International Academy of experiential Education” www.viaexperientia.net and share its philosophy and methodological approach. The seminar idea is to offer an open space to share best practice and new ideas/methods/concepts of the participants in working on experiential programmes with young people with fewer opportunities.Specific focus will be given on ‘reflective practices’ in working with this specific target group.The meeting will offer participants of the seminar an opportunity to : 1. exchange experience and best practices while working with young people who have fewer opportunities;2. increase their competence as facilitators of outdoor experiential learning activities addressed to young people;3. analyze, reflect and review the experiential learning quality principles developed by the informal network “International Academy of experiential Education” (and available on the web site www.viaexperientia.net) in order to improve the quality of their outdoor training courses addressed to young people;4. focus on the improvement of experiential methodologies oriented towards increasing young people’s competence, necessary for them to be socially included and integrated and to assist them when entering the world of work.5. open up new opportunities and widen the cooperation through the realization of new partnership projects that might include the direct involvement of young people with less opportunities;6. giving visibility and the culture of quality in outdoor experiential learning projects addressed to young people fostering in Europe.
