The project participants was a group of sixteen students from class III Non-State Technical College in Opatow, full-time educating in the profession of I.T. specialist. The students participated in a 4-week placement taking place in Italy. Practice implementation took place from 21.09.2015 to 16.10.2015. Students did apprenticeships the computer science company. The project met the needs of students related to the improvement of professional skills by gaining practical knowledge and experience in a wide and challenging field of science. The project was prepared in cooperation with local entrepreneurs so its implementation was focused on improving the professional competence of students to use acquired skills in further education and the labour market. The participants had the opportunity to expand their theoretical knowledge to use it in practice, as well as compare their knowledge with the standards of the Italian company. During the practice in Italian companies, participants familiarized with organizational structure and working techniques of companies. Students also learnt modern IT technologies and current industry practices used in the IT market. Implementation of the internship was an excellent opportunity to confront Polish and Italian vocational training system. Participants had also opportunity to improve their knowledge of English and learnt basic Italian helpful when adapting to the environment. The use of the gained experienced has increased competitiveness of students in today’s labour market. It affected their mobility by reducing or overcoming cultural differences, language barriers and lack of transparency of qualifications. The holding of foreign professional experience bas been certified by Europass Mobility Certificate showing one’s qualifications and competence.
