OTIS – Online Training for Investment in Securities

Based on the need for sophisticated knowledge about the stock markets and of an effective training product for enhancement of financial culture of SME’s it is necessary to build up on conventional training modules of professionals by developing online training in the field of financial markets and investment in securities. The “OTIS” project intends to build a software product for VET which includes a training module, a self-evaluation module and a virtual game with simulation of real European stock markets in 5 languages. Users can acquire knowledge about financial markets and trading with securities through the training module, test via the self-evaluation module and acquire practical skills with the virtual game in which they gain or lose virtual money on European stock markets. The training module will include basic chapters on securities, stock markets and exchanges, regulation bodies, initial public offering, mergers and acquisitions, profit and dividend policy, regulations, legislation and trading laws. The direct targets of the software product are SME’s, professionals, decision-makers, managers, students, and other individuals. The project will focus on several fast growing European industries as there are the food processing industry, chemical and oil processing industry, perfumery and cosmetics, and machinery industry. Final users and beneficiaries include employees of SME’s who would like to develop their knowledge of financial markets and investments. The valorisation strategy is drafted at 3 levels: during the exploitation phase in the beginning of the project simultaneous press conferences and workshops will be organised in partner countries, the second level will create the involvement of the target groups to point out priorities, test and validate, and during the final phase distribution of information will be accomplished through workshops, leaflets, presentations and press releases.
