Project strategy aims to achieve the project goals. It is based on successful completion of project activities as laid out in the detailed time plan below. Most important milestones in the project strategy are: formation of a professional project team with competences in project management, waste management; using of highly professional consultants for drafting ToRs and tender documentation and procedures; conducting of partners summits to exchange practices and experience; establishment of a network for the specialized staff in the administration regarding waste management issues and regulations; purchasing of new and modern equipment; successful implementation of waste removal and waste disposal; raising local awareness of environmental protection. Achievements: The project envisioned and achieved the following results:- Procurement and active usage of special waste collection equipment, and namely: 2 trucks, street washer and a tractor for snow removal at the municipality of Montana and auto tank car and a street washer at the municipality of Pirot;- Conducted a survey of best practices and networking in the field of waste management- Carried out a publicity and media campaign and, in particular: mounted signs for project;- organised three media events with appropriate visualization measures and presentation materials; - prepared and published press releases in the local media; Issued 300 leaflets with project results; and branded all the supplied communal equipment.The project was successfully completed in August 2014.
