PROJET
TERMINÉ
This project aims to continue a long tradition of our school in European programmes, above all, in Erasmus and Leonardo IVT mobility for work placements. We have already had collaborations with all partners and the experience has always been very positive.
Our proposal consists of carrying out a 10-week mobility corresponding to the module of Training at Work within the student´s educational curriculum for the following initial vocational students:
One Technician in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Installations, 1 Technician in Heat Generation Installations and one Technician in Bodywork to Germany , 2 Technicians in Joinery and Furniture Making to Finland and 2 technicians in welding and boiler making to Malta. We would like to send one teacher from the Wood department to Finland and another teacher from the Motor Vehicles department to Germany, both a one-week stay .
There are several objectives:
-Helping the acquisition of professional competences in the corresponding industries.
-Getting to know the structure and organization of the foreign companies in those countries.
-Getting to know the ethic and work habits in those companies.
-Increasing the intercultural dialogue and the acquisition of language abilities in German and in English.
-Promoting the employability of Spanish students in the companies of Lower Saxony, where students who have finished their internships got a job thanks to the high demand of skilled workforce in this region.
- Extending these employability prospects to countries like Finland and Malta.
The people involved in the project are: The Coordinator of European Programmes, The participants´ tutors who will always have the other teachers ?support , the Heads of the different Departments ,The Principal, The Head of Studies, The Secretary, The Coordinator of Relation with Companies, The Career Guide Counsellor, The Coordinators from partner Institutions in each country, The tutors in the companies and the person in charge of Culture and Education in the Town Hall of the Region of Osnabrück.
The participants will spend ten weeks in the host countries , doing their internships in the selected companies where they will have a mentor to give them an induction ,support them and evaluate them at the end. This period corresponds to the on-the-job module in their curriculum. Training agreements will be elaborated and discussed with all parties previously to mobility.
Their mobility will be organised together by the sending and host institutions. We will help with the travel arrangements and the host school will organise their accommodation, integration in the country and all necessary arrangements. They will take the students to the company and will keep in touch with their tutor in the company to send all this information to us.
There will also be follow-up visits to the students in their companies.
The mobility of students will take place in two streams : October 2014 - December 2014 and March 2015 to June 2015.
German Language preparation is already taking place in our school through to collaboration with the University of Osnabrück so that they are sending students of Spanish philology to do their Erasmus mobility in our school, which has an Extended EUC, to teach German to our students.
The English language preparation will be done with the collaboration of the Department of Foreign languages of our school.
The expected results are, among others, that participants get to know the training system of the partner countries , methods of production, labour standards , work and safety regulations , machinery and technologies used in those countries, as well as the customs and traditions of the country and their way of living and habits.
Our aim is that the impact of the Project is not just on the participants but passed on to other students, teachers and educational community.
Finally, we intend to establish professional and social relationships during mobility to facilitate employment not only of the students on their on-the-job training period but also of other students who have already got their certificates because it is an area with high demand for skilled labour, while our employment situation in these sectors is quite precarious right now.
