TERMINÉ
Our public school organization is called VIII Circolo and is made up of two Primary schools with 28 classes and 5 Pre-Primary schools with 15 sections. These schools are situated in Piacenza, in the North West of Italy, not far from Milan.
In our district there are middle class families, with good cultural basis, but also migrants from East Europe or South America , so in our classes we have children with different cultures and languages. Moreover there are pupils with special needs or disabilities who need teaching support and interaction with schoolmates.
Therefore the priority is for educational projects to encourage the use of the plurality of languages and tools. In fact we use different methods and promote real experiences in order to offer our children an active and integrated learning, taking into account emotional, social, physical , cultural aspects...Lots of teachers are formed in Feuerstein method , Cooperative learning, Life skills...and update their competence attending training courses.
We also work in a network of schools, for preventing early school leaving and for the integration of pupils of different nationality ; cooperate with cultural and public organizations and are implementing tecnological tools. We are open to European cooperation : we took part in a Comenius Partnership and now we are involved in a Comenius Assistantship, with great benefits on our school community. We want to develop the internalization process:- increasing CLIL and ICT application ; - implementing the use of new methodologies for special needs; - introducing English learning in Pre-Primary school. We need international training courses in these fields, to improve our professional competences and reach the attending goals. Moreover we want to share intercultural experiences with other european partners. We are planning to do Job shadowing with two schools: in Spain (first year) and Bulgaria(second year) and receive their teachers in our Institution, to reach greater understanding of different educational systems and enrich each others. The 18 participants to the staff mobility are properly balanced and representive of the two school orders, fit the selected criteria, have high motivation. They are updated and have wide experience in innovative teaching, project management, cooperative working .
They will be supported in preparation activities (task related, intercultural, linguistic ) and will work in team ,keeping in touch with the partners to share planning , work in progress, monitoring and evaluation.
The project will inable our school to start foreign language learning in early age; enlarge CLIL application and ICT use; support inclusion and special needs; promote international exchanges and future pupils mobilty. We' ll share process and results with other schools and institutions in workshops,meetings,e-forums, so that we can stimulate the development of European dimension in other organizations. Open roads for future generations!
