Online Vocational training course on design, manufacture and validation of custom-made orthopaedic, oral and cranio-maxillofacial devices.
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The global market for 3-D printing in medical application was valued $354.5 million worldwide in 2012 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.4 percent from 2013 to 2019 to reach $965.5 million by 2019. Considering that Europe dominated the additive manufacturing for medical devices market in 2012, these economic forecasts augur a promising future for those European Medical Device manufacturers that decide to incorporate design and manufacture of customized implantable devices to their portfolio. This situation will result in the incorporation of specifically trained professionals or in the training of the existing staff. The objective of OVOMAX proposal is the development of contents and implementation of an online free access course to assure Medical Device designers a worthy education and training along their professional career regarding design, manufacture and validation of custom-made medical devices. The e-learning tool resulting from the project will be available online in 4 European languages (English, Spanish, Polish and Hungarian) in order to increase acceptance of the course. OVOMAX consortium (KOMAG, IBV, AIMME, FENIN, ATEKNEA) has been set up to guarantee the success of the action and its valorization beyond the project duration, assuring: • Representativeness of and access to the heterogeneous group of end-user profiles, both for gathering training needs and for validation of the new VET course at European level. • Access to background knowledge of the course and capability for developing training materials. • Experience in the setting up of on-line VET learning courses. • Exploitation capabilities beyond the project duration. • Experience and capabilities for EU-wide dissemination. • Recognition of the informal training proposed at academic level. Intellectual Outputs planned for OVOMAX project are the following: • O1. VET curriculum of OVOMAX course • O2. Complete materials and training contents of OVOMAX course • O3. Prototype of OVOMAX course • O4. Pilot tests of OVOMAX course • O5. Validated version of OVOMAX course The consortium will not apply any access restriction to contents. There will be a project website available where training contents developed throughout the project will be accessible. This website will be operational for three years after the project finalization with the aim of increasing the effectiveness and impact of the dissemination activities. In addition, the consortium partners will keep the contents accessible on their corporative websites. There are different strategies to exploit the results of the project and to make them remain available by the targeted end users, based on the development and delivery of courses where added value of mentoring, promotion, monitoring and evaluation or the students shall be provided.
