Josip Jurčič Secondary School of Economics, its six students and on mobility also accompanying teacher participated in the project entitled Beyond frontiers (Onkraj meja) which was carried out in partnership with host organization from Italy from 1. 6. 2015 to 31.10.2016 (planned end was 1. 6. 2017). The participants were third-year students from the secondary school of economic technicians. General aims of the project were acquiered: better professional skills, improving language and communication skills, learning about the differences in social, economic and cultural environment of the participating countries, and actively participating in project work and training. Our students were able to gain a practical insight into business processes and organization of work in the commercial and administrative fields in different branches. In June 2016 (8. 6. to 22. 6.) a group of our third-year students completed their two-week compulsory training in Vicenza, Italy. The project was carried out with work placements in: tourist, trade and educational organizations and accounting service. This project gave students from socially more or less underprivileged groups the opportunity to take part in an international student project, acquiring experience in international project work with members of the European Union, which will be useful for establishing contact and carrying out projects later on. The acquired knowledge with experience and active work will enable participants’ faster and more effective personal and professional development. We carried out the procedures for the evaluation and certification (from host and sending organization, also in ECVET documents) of acquired knowledge and skills, as well. They’ve also got Europass mobility documents. By participating in this project, Josip Jurčič Secondary School of Economics has gained valuable international experience which will be incorporated in competence-based and practical work-oriented Economic Technician programme. We will also undertake the activities for dissemination and sharing the results of the project in the preparation of future projects as well as at the regular education process in the school.
