OmniViSS: Embedded Omnidirectional Vision System for Environment Reconstruction and Analysis (OmniViSS)

The project seeks to develop the technology of omnidirectional sensors allowing for a continual 360 degree visual field in order to improve and develop an environment system and application tools for objects 3D localization addressing specific needs particular to industry and services in our region. The project development will bring together expertise from both sides of the channel on a number of complementary technologies to form an overall enhanced system. The project will develop a complete system consisting of the vision sensor, software tools and techniques to aid the processing and analysis of the sensor data and a embedded system hardware architecture to implement the image analysis in real-time.
