OLD - Developing of a Transnational Work Experience Module for Students in their Last Year of the Basic Social and Health Programmes

The main purpose of OLD is to develop a transnational work placement package for young people in vocational education and training, particularly basic Social and Healthcare Programmes.Social and Healthcare programmes vary from country to country, there is a need therefore to create further transparency between the educational and training programmes in the different countries in order to remove the barriers to mobility in this sector. OLD will undergo an initial comparison of these training programmes across the partner countries and present these findings both within the partnership and beyond.A specialist, training module will then be developed for use with students preparing to undergo a period of work experience abroad, when completed this module will become an official merited part of the training programme. Further preparation modules will then be developed for use as 'intercultural input' with students in all areas of training / study. A final module will then be developed for 'host' establishments, to further prepare these bodies for the transnational experience. All training modules will be produced initially in EN & DE with the possibility to extend the range of languages at a later stage. For students having undergone transnational work experience there will be an evaluation program (method) developed and a process of certification undergone. The certification process will further apply for accreditation within the partner countries.A common website will be developed to both encourage information exchange between partners and other interested bodies and to inform on project developments. A final Handbook will be developed to allow the results and actual training modules to be circulated to other organisations / institutions interested in developing similar preparatory and support programmes.
