In the project we have prepared, we would like to observe, reseach and have interviews about how the reading habits have been created in Germany and Sweden which we have chosen as partners. In our project, we aim to discover in which ages, how and who the students gain the habit of reading from, by questionnaries and interviews. Also, we aim to survey roles of the schools on creating the habit and to observe whether there are course periods, activities and places about the subject or not. The other aim of us is to observe reading places outside the school, their features and how the students and community utilize there. Finally, we would like to search about whether people, public bodies and non-governmental organizations have activities outside the schools or not. We have planned to participate in this project with 14 people on behalf of Directorate of National Education of our County, 2 primary schools, 2 secondary schools and 1 high school. As we think that each level of the schools has different tasks about creating reading habits, we have included all the schools in our county in our project.So, the participants from each levels of the schools are going to be selected to the group which will perform the activity on abroad. The participants are to contribute to the project for all the stages, be successful in his/her profession, enjoy reading and aim to motivate his/her students about the subject, have a team spirite, be enterprising, participate in reading activity of our county actively, and attempt our project willingly. In our project, interviews and questionnaires are going to be done with students from different levels of the schools and some information is going to be got about people and activities in and outside of the schools that contribute reading habits of the students.The effect of different levels of the schools on reading habits, reading activities and places in and out of the schools are going to be searched. Library usage of the students and community is going to be observed. Cooperation is going to be done with members of the consortium and the partners in order to perform the project effectively. All the researches, observations and questionnaires are going to be registered and reported. At the end of the activity on abroad, all the information is going to be anayzed and evaluated. Initial effects of the project will be realized on the participants. The participants will return their countries equipped with different kinds of skills and information. After the evaluation of the project, activities which are suitable for the organisation and features of the students are going to be selected and started to be performed. First, rate of reading of the students is going to be increased. Then, it is going to be tried to bring up individuals who is sophisticated, has great perception and interpretation ability, expresses himself/herself in a relaxed way, thinks analitically, makes reading a lifestyle and creates awareness in his/her life, improves social and communication skills, by increasing academic success of the students, saving them from negative effects of the environment and tecnology and increasing information and skills of social sensitivity. The other teachers and families are going to be tried to be included in the activities in order to see the effects of the project not only on students but also on the other teachers and families. Consequently, it is aimed the whole county to be improved and then, to set a good example for other counties and cities.
